I'd be very surprised if this game was scheduled that late in the season, but you never know. Both the Big 10 and Big East would have to allow for it. Maybe early November at the latest. The heat usually starts to back off in mid-late October. I suspect it'll be played in September in place of the Jacksonville St. game. I know the UCF administration tries to schedule September game in the evening, but TV makes that call if it's televised. The Mizzou game in Orlando was put at noon by Fox Sports this past season, and it was B-R-U-T-A-L-L-Y hot. The paramedics had to treat at least two people in our section alone for heat exhaustion. Those kind of games really affect our attendance, too.

Either way I'm looking forward to it. I will definitely try to make the trip to Happy Valley again. I was there in 2004, which unfortunately, wasn't a very good game (for us). This time I won't forget the sunscreen. That game was the worst sunburn I ever got at a football game, which is a bit embarrassing for a native Floridian to admit.

I just hope O'Brien is still at PSU in 2014. I'm sure the only reason PSU agreed to the return game was because of BOB's relationship with GOL. If he leaves, I wouldn't be surprised to see the game bought out. Over the past 40 years, I only see 3 or 4 games PSU has played on the road outside of the state of Pennsylvania against someone like UCF, so this is a rarity for them.

The 2014 game will be in September most likely as it replaces the Jacksonville St FCS game. That date was set for Sep. 20th I think.

And yeah just because of the BOB thing as I know he was courted by the NFL, I hope there is at least a hefty buyout attached. We got lucky with getting Mizzou to replace Kansas St due to them backing out but I don't know how many times a team can do that without getting burned.

Don't know about that, they were 8-4 this past year and Ohio State also had sanctions but went undefeated. And UCF is also under sanctions.

I've said this several times on this site before, but I truly believe UCF could become one of the most powerful nBE teams and down the road even build a brand like Florida, Ohio State, etc. The groundwork is there. Lets hope you guys get a big win or two out of this schedule!!

Normally I am not a big fan of buy games. I was FURIOUS when Cincy took the Tenn. game, and the OSU switcheroo (they were supposed to come to PBS in 2012, but we bent over when they tried to cancel, and all games were moved to Columbus).

But, in this case, I think an exception can be made. With PSU still reeling from the sanctions, this is probably a calculated risk for UCF.

It's supposed to be a home and home, if that's what you mean. I can't think of any one UCF fan that sees this as a bad move

Yeah, it would be a home/home. UCF goes to PSU in 2013 and PSU returns in 2014.

UCF in general does not do one and dones anymore. OSU was an exception mainly due to the fact both teams happened to need a game and the same week was open.

But other series like South Carolina, Mizzou, BYU, K-State(they backed out)etc., have been 1/1.
