Super Metro Conference
http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Journ...rence.aspx

Raycom Sports was commissioned in 1990 to create the first ever super conference from the old Metro and the remaining prominent football independents.

It would have looked like this:

North division:
BC, Cinci, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, VT & WVU
(Penn St was originally planned for inclusion bf joining the Big 10)

South Division:
ECU,Fla St, Louisville, Memphis, Miami, S Carolina USM & Tulane

Would be a lot different now had this come to fruition.
