Not shabby. I am always proud when our players excel in the classroom as well.

It's corny, but that whole 'most players go pro in something else' NCAA bit is spot on. You got a free education, so you damn well better take advantage.

Good news. Tough to do when you have to practice and travel as much as our athletes do. Not to take away from the average kids who have to work almost full time and go to school.

i wasn't an athlete but went to school full time and worked full time.
graduated w a 3.48 and was the hardest thing i've ever done.

Would you mind being more specific in your titles? For example, "Shaq Goodwin makes 3.0 club" is more descriptive.

You seem to like first name last name as the title, ("Adonis Thomas" "Will Coleman" "Tarik BlacK") and it would be easier to decide if the thread is worthwhile by the title.

For example, the "Tarik Black" thread was just a link to an article about Tarik. It could have been that he made the 3.0 club, that he was expecting a baby, that he was kicked off the team, etc. A title of "CA article on Tarik" would have been more helpful.

JMS doesn't just post "RPI" in his thread title or Tigerbo didn't post "Scott Vogel"--he posted "Former Tiger Vogel new CBHS HC" which was more helpful.

However, if the title had been "Shaq makes 3.0 club" that would have summed it up. If I felt compelled to post then I would have.

When you get on the board and you see nebulous thread titles like "Memphis Pom" or "Will Coleman" I am not as drawn to click because other more informative titles "9/7/13 Duke vs. Memphis in LB" or "...Ptoohey and media bias" (instead of just "Sean Ptoohey") helps.

Nitpicky, I understand, but why wouldn't it be better to be a little more specific?

Yes and if CJP has anything to do with this he should be terminated immidiately , he's a bb coach . Winning is all he should care about , helping these young men get an education is someone elses responsibility .

...or one of the heavy volume posters does it more often than a dude who might make 1 post a week. Which would be more targeted in addressing the issue?
