CUSA should stop at 14. Lets say Tulsa goes to the BE or MW we would have 13 once odu and charlotte move up. We would need one more to get to 14. I bet BB's phone is busy

RE: Group of five to share playoff revenue
If you look at the map of exisiting teams and the states there are 3 choices that would help solidfy the geographic footprint of CUSA and help the TV negotations if Tulsa were to leave. All 3 states have no CUSA presence.

WKU- Good BBall, Up and coming Football, Rival for MTSU
stAte- Good Fball, Only 1 other FBS program in state, Also MTSU Rival (not as much as WKU)
GSU- No huge +'s in programs, but a HUGE TV market.

One of these would make the most sense if only TULSA leaves.

Exactly and if it keeps the Happy Appys out, karma will have been served.

WKU or Ark State is who I would prefer and both could go to west division

I agree with those but I wouldn't count Delaware out either. In the #4 Philly market and would be the only FBS school in the state of Delaware if they moved up. And lets not forget that it is publicly known that CUSA approached them last year.

Now that I'm thinking about it.....maybe that's the plan. Tulsa leaves in 2014 with ODU taking the spot. Charlotte comes in 2015 with Delaware? Hmmm. That would make sense to me.

I guess it would depend on how much CUSA wants that #4 TV market.

Absolutely zero sense putting WKU in the West.

Eh well they're only a bit more east than Birmingham and as a long time member, I'm sure UAB would have more say in which division they'd rather be in.

Marshall, Charlotte, FAU, FIU, and ODU are locks for the east. I have a feeling UAB may want to be paired with those schools since they share history. If I were betting on it, I'd bet that either WKU or MTSU would end up in the west before UAB.

Unless MT goes with WKU into the West division, keeping USM in the East with UAB and Marshall.

ark state may get call or even the cajuns. I would say we will go to 14 and that Tulsa is gone to BE or MWC. WKU may get left out because of this. Not west enough and So miss, UAB, Marshall probably want to be in same division.

If we lose two, stay at 12? Would travel be reduced enough with 14 to be worth it? Banowsky once mentioned going from 12-14 to increase tv inventory; I wonder if our tv partners are a driving force behind 14 football members.

The benefit of only going to 14 is that each school only has two cross division games a year (one home/one away)

Banowsky's main motivation in all this, is keeping his high paying gig.
IF there has to be another program invited, I'd vote for WKU at this point.

You don't have to wonder. That was the only way to prevent both Fox and CBS Sports from renegotiating. The defections and additions cost the league about $116K per school. Would have been more if Bankowsky would have been unsuccessful in getting them to agree to keep the same dollar amount with the new lineup.

All things considered I'll take $200,000 less in base share to get $1 million more in tv money, more bowl tie-ins, and more NCAA tourney credits.

It's not yet it would dumb to think they are going to quit doing things the way they already do. The revenue split is similar, it's broken three ways like the old system. Top leagues share the same way, so no don't pay attention to the old system.

I'd like to stay in the same division with Southern Miss and UAB but I dont think its going to happen. The numbers dont add up. One of them will have to move to the west side.

2015 division:

Marshall
ODU
Charlotte
FIU
FAU
MTSU

The other half being divided based on highest ranked team and conference performance is what C-USA needs to focus on. We can't go 2-7 against the Belt every year or we'll be at the bottom of the totem pole.

Its per conference, just as it is now. About half the money will be divided equally among the 5 conferences. The rest will be distributed based on some performance based metrics.

I believe if we only lose Tulsa we should invite Ark State. They could go in the west and would cause less geographic craziness.
East: ODU, Marshall, Charlotte, MTSU, UAB, FAU, FIU
West: USM, La Tech, Rice, Ark State, NT, UTSA, UTEP

As I understand from previous posts WKU, Ark State, NMSU and Georgia State are "on deck". Ark State and NMSU for west... Ark State should be the choice, especially if we still have UTEP.

CUSA do not need to add anyone else....period. If CUSA loses Tulsa then so be it. Same with USM, Marshall or any other team. The focus needs to be on making this conference the most money possible per team. I believe in less mouths to feed the better.
