RE: SBC Tournament
I just do not see us making a miraculous run like last season....This just based on Harper taking over mid season last year and it just seemed like the whole team got a burst of energy that carried through the tournament..I would be very surprised if this season we end up with a winning record...Yes we have some lingering injuries with some guys, but we still do not have the players top to bottom to get it done...MTSU will be in NIT quarterfinals and USA will cut down the nets in Hot Springs as MTSU gets upset again, this time in touney finals..

RPI is in the 30's and we are getting votes. We have some good wins and only one bad loss. If we can make it to the finals I think we get an at large, but we better make it to the finals and of course we can't drop more than one regular season game.

Just the fact that we're even discussing our post season scenarios as if it's inevitable that we'll be playing in one tournament or the other shows how much this program has changed in the last two seasons. I never got to see the Blue Raiders play in the postseason as a student...and I wasn't exactly on the four year plan...it's one of the few things I really don't think is too much to ask of your program to see at least once when you're a student...so whatever...I'm just enjoying the fact that most of us can agree we're likely playing somewhere in March and while we have a bit of a history of underperforming in the conference tournament(outside of the year we beat USA on their home court in the semis) so I can't blame anyone for predicting we don't get it done in Hot Springs, I will just say this, just a couple of years ago you would have never convinced a single Western fan(and most MT fans would have been a tough sell to be honest) that a Kermit Davis coached team would be in serious discussion for postseason play not just once, but back to back years. Things are changing for our basketball program, having not seen any games in person this year I'm not ready to make any real predictions for Hot Springs, but anyone who thinks things are changing, isn't paying attention.

RE: SBC Tournament
I think this is relevant to WKU's injury issues.

It was too different points entirely, my apologies if it was difficult to follow.

1) Our program is changing. In the ten years I've been a Blue Raider, the only other time I've really seen realistic postseason talk was the year we were looking pretty strong and choked it away and ended up embarrassing ourselves by paying money to play in the CIT or whatever bogus tournament we played in only to lose in the first round(to Missouri State if memory serves) and stay stuck on 19 wins. Last year our postseason play was inevitable and we even had some talk of an at-large bid, chances were slim and of course we didn't get in, but getting an at large would have been big for the conference and HUGE for us. While our postseason bid is far from sealed this year, this season is shaping up pretty well for us to be playing in the post season again. Times have changed for MT basketball, we still have a ways to go, but our program is in a much better place now than I've ever known it before.

2) The bit about Hot Springs predictions was specifically about this season(whereas the first was about the program overall) I've only caught us on television a few times this year and haven't made it up from Atlanta yet this basketball season which means I haven't seen us in person and I haven't seen anyone else in conference in person. I can certainly make some predictions just off box scores, standings and fan discussion here, but I'd feel better about making predictions had I watched some games in person. The only way the two points really intermingle is the idea that while we have a history of choking in the conference tournament, clearly other aspects of our program are changing, so while I'm not willing to make a prediction just yet, perhaps our performance in the conference tournament will finally change as well.

Make sense?

Yea, my issue was the changing, then you said that if anyone thought mt was changing they were crazy. I think that was a typo. But i could not tell if you meant change as in program advancing or as in this year regressing. I gotcha now...
