Greatest School Icons
I would like to see pictures posted of what you think your schools' special and greatest icons are...in pictures, show us what makes your university, your university.

For Toledo, it's the bell tower and the rocket that stand out to me....

If launched, this rocket would land at the 50 yard line of the Bowling Green football stadium, pretty dang cool.

I'm interested in seeing what pictures define other universities.

If NIU ever merges with Arkansas you can keep the statue.

Hayes Hall on UB South, definate icon of the school and reminder of our private school period. Sits at the highest elevation in the city of Buffalo:

Baird Point on UB North. Built by Lake Lasalle from parts of the former Fed Reserve building in Buffalo as a symbol of connecting the past with the new campus:

1/2 ton Bronze Buffalo statue on UB North, a replica of the Buffalo statue that once greeted passengers passing through the Buffalo Central Terminal:

RE: Greatest School Icons
In recent times, it has been Akron's student union building.

Before that, it was the Polymer tower.

Hard to leave out all the other beautiful, historic buildings, but here are more favorites.

Sorry, but the CMU Police still possess photographs of CMU's "most historic/iconic sculpture." It would shame Frank Lloyd Wright's work.

NIU's Altgeld Hall

Fun fact: NIU, EIU, SIU, ISU, and UIUC all have some version of this Altgeld castle.

If EMU has a brick diick and BGSU has a sparkling vajayjay, which school has a heaving bosum?

RE: Greatest School Icons
Something not yet built can't really pass as iconic. Iconic should be something unique that sets a place and time in the university's past or signals key moments, a symbolic structure that serves no other purpose but symbolism, or any key building/structure in usage in a school's commucations toolbox.
