USA basketball fans I need some Info
I will be coming down (actually over I will be leaving for the Gulf Coast on Tuesday) for the WKU game and need to know about parking.
My wife has a injured leg and can't walk long distends so what is the closes place to park?
I also need to know how fast the parking fills up...probably won't get there no earlier than 20-30 minutes before tip off?
One other question, can you drop off and pick up in front of the arena?

First of all I hope you have a good time on the Coast and in Mobile, except for Thursday night about 9 pm.. :)
You can tell the parking attendants that you need to drop off your wife and they will direct you where to go. They will accommodate people with limited mobility. However, I'm not sure where you would get to park. There are several lots nearby. Here is a campus map. I usually park in the parking lot where building 34 is. The lot behind building 76 is pretty big. You could also park in the Humanities Building parking lot which is Building 58 on the map. You won't have a trouble finding a spot. You just can't park in the Mitchell Center lot. I'd recommend getting there 30 minutes before the game if you are dropping off your wife then finding parking.

RE: USA basketball fans I need some Info
Thanks SkullyMaroo I usually like to get to a game a lot earlier (on the road) but I will be out in the Gulf fishing till 2pm that day and it makes it a lot harder getting there early when I have to get all of the 30-40 pound fish smell off my hands. If it's like my last 2 trips (Christmas and New Years ) I might be there early...not many fish.
So far on my road trips to other SBC games parking hasn't been a problem...since USA is more of a basketball school than ULM and Troy I wanted to get an ideal before getting there late.
The way WKU is playing I'm fairly sure I will end up wishing I stayed fishing :)

The campus entrance from Old Shell Road just east of the Mitchell Center entrance is access to a large parking lot at the old gym. If your wife can step up onto a tram or bus you can be picked up very close to your car and delivered to the Mitchell Center entrance by campus transportation.
Hope you catch your limit!! Have a great time!

Also, if you have a handicap tag you can park right in front of the Mitchell Center... If you don't have one, you could probably get a temporary mirror hanger and if so, you're in like Flynn. Welcome to Mobile and I hope you enjoy your stay :)

RE: USA basketball fans I need some Info
My experience down there for the Sun Belt tourney years back was great. I think I walked from Picklefish Pizza at least once, not because parking was bad mind you, but because it's not that far and damn I loved that place. IIRC correctly, the arena is situated in such a way that there is parking within a reasonable distance on multiple sides, though I think most of it was between Picklefish and the Mitchell Center. I always wanted to make another trip to Mobile, if we don't end up conference mates again in the future, hopefully we'll get at least a 1-1 in football sometime in the next decade.

That would be a tough restaurant name for me to get over.

Pizza is very good, don't get me wrong I've had better, but for a hole in the wall spot stumbling distance from campus it's pretty damn good...and if you saw the server I had you'd understand it even more.
