That is supposing we only lose TU and not USM, Rice, and/or UTEP as well. :/

If you lose those 3 just stop adding and make it easier. Id rather the SBC not have to go crazy adding FCS schools.

No need to go to 16-18 teams, TV money would be terribly diluted, and I think it sets you guys up for massive defections some yeard sown the road...sort of like what happened to the WAC.

I seriously doubt that we (utep) are going anywhere. We'll be here until kingdom come. So get used to us.

Gut the Sun Belt and go to 18. Split revenues among 18. Sun Belt goes to 9 with FCS teams and splits revenue among 9. New FCS teams have more conference revenue than long established CUSA FBS teams.

Sounds like a plan to me.

The playoff payout is per team, not per conference. Doesn't matter if you are 9 or 18.

Also, if a conference loses ALL of it's FBS members then it can't invite 9 FCS teams to move up en masse.

And if UTEP should leave they then have a fairly unappealing far western outlier.

what is really strange is you only have one flagship school in a similar populated state....no clue to history of how you guys have either tried or not to propogate...would actually like a history lesson outside of wiki

...and last statement was obviously good point

Should help in the win-loss column. Well, as long as we won't lose to MTSU 14 times in a row.

Wouldnt work. That would involve you guys bringing Troy, USA, and ULM up as well as Georgia State and Texas State, and the rest of us. There is no way your league presidents would approve such a thing.

It would be very hard to kill off the Sun Belt as long as so many FCS teams are interested in moving up.

The ODU AD hinted in his latest interview that C-USA might stay at 12 if we lose more than just Tulsa. I agree that the President's would never go for it. Since payout is per team though, moving 4 or 5 FCS teams into the Belt would seemingly lower the payout for us all.

Which is really why it makes more sense to stick with what you've got. As it is, the Belt is probably only adding two teams out of FCS. If CUSA came and took three or four of us, then the SBC would have to add that many FCS, thus lowering everyone's payout.

If everyone goal is to just attempt to eat each other, then this thing will never stop.
