I saw that article last night. As a Catholic, I don't know where they come up with some of these priests.

I saw that article last night. As a Catholic, I don't know where they come up with some of these priests.

All religious denominations, child service organizations and all types of schools try to prevent the various perverts and incompetents from entering their groups. The problem is, how do you do it when you are so often desperate to fill vacancies and there is not a huge number from which to choose. You are not bringing in 10 or 20, but hundreds or thousands every year. Many of these groups are under pressure to place "a warm body" into a job opening before a deadline is reached (like the first day of school) and their ability to do "police background checks" may be limited by funding shortages..

I am no journalist but I believe the lede is intended to entice the reader to read further. This did get my attention.
