Reporter for the Sun Herald, I think. Used to write for Hattiesburg American. Very anti-Southern Miss most of the time.

Three different people who would need to know have told me that nothing has happened re: MTSU, FAU and C-USA… yet.

I'm interested if this means C-USA will have 14 members next year or if this means Tulane and East Carolina will be gone a year early.

Wondering the same. If FAU and MTSU both come for 2013 then does that grease the skids for ECU and Tulane to head to the BE this year also? Might be best if it did since lame duck years are bad for all.

I don't think MT and FAU coming in does much for the ECU and Tulane situation this late in the game. It's not like it gives them a permission slip. Is there a reason CUSA and its member institutions would want them gone for next year at this point?

Sounds like a done deal, just haggling over the amoutn now.

That's only if Ban Ban and crew keep the same schedule rotation.

There is nothing new here. As a couple of us have been telling you guys for a couple of weeks, the decsion has already been made. The university (at least at MT) continues to work on the legal elements of this and they have not officially announced anything yet. Once all of the legal stuff has been finalized including the final negotiated exit fee the President will have to sign off on it. We're still probably a couple of days away at the earliest, and there is still a chance (all be it a very small one) that it doesn't get done. I said over the weekend that we're probably one to two weeks away and that's probably still a good time frame (3 to 10 days) for an official announcement.

I don't believe a Tulsa departure creates an immediate need to add. I fully expect Bankowsky will sit idle if Tulsa leaves at least for a year.
