This is a great hire. I would have been disappointed if we hired Nix or Kaufman. When Smith landed here in Skip's first year I noticed an immediate difference in the way our secondary played in the first game of the season against Duke. It was a 180 degree turn from just months earlier under Thompson. We will see immediate changes for the better in 2013.

The full interview is on ECU's 247sports site. Great interview and pretty emotional. This guy is a true Pirate. Never sold his house in Greenville and had planned to retire here with his family.
