Yeah woke my 16yr old up @6 saying schools were closed. He tured alarm off then before i left went into his room asking why he wasnt ready for school. He said "you said schools wete closed". I tokd him he was dreaming that.....about 5min later as he was getting up he looked out the window & saw snow. His comment was something about me being evil & he was going back to bed.

I had to drive to Yazoo in it.. I usually leave about 6-ish.. I waited til 7 to leave Ridgeland.. It got worse on the Natchez Trace heading to 49, then about Flora it stopped.. I got to Yazoo and this big bright thing in the sky appeared.

the warning on weather.com for Charlotte says 3-5 inches.

Normally I'd welcome the snow, but I was planning to go to Snowshoe Mountain tomorrow for some skiing and now I may not be able to make the drive. The route up 77 and 81 will probably be impassable.

RE: ot Snow in Jackson Ms
finally here in Mesa Az. we have close to normal weather. The past week has featured more nights below freezing than any time since 1988. We are to be in the 60s today and back into the more seasonable 70s for the next week.

I appreciate you folks posting this since I live a long ways from the town in Miss. that I grew up in, I am always glad to know how things are back there. I don't think I will ever return to Mississippi to live, but it still has a special place in my heart and I am always interested in how it is going there.

You should be fine on the interstate, however, 219 from Lewisburg may be a problem.

But if you can make it, you should really try and go, this storm should bring some of the best powder of the season

which is pretty good considering how the season has gone so far...

This year hasn't been especially kind to WV skiing, more so at Winterplace, but Snowshoe hasn't been immune to the warm streaks and whatnot

True. When I checked their site I was shocked to see that snowshoe had gotten over 70 inches of snow already this year.

I'm sure the 60 degree temperatures earlier this week didn't do them any favors.

I'm hoping things are in good order while I'm there.

I'm going to Canaan in a few weeks too. I really like Canaan because it is generally fairly empty since most people going to that area tend to go to Snowshoe or Timberline.

Well what do you need when you go skiing? Snow, right? Well, just look for some hilly places and don't forget to dodge the trees. 03-wink It'll save you the drive.
