I'm thinking that d.j. can do just about anything he sets his mind to do. He will give it his all and hope for the best. Thankfully, d.j. has a loving and trusting God in his life that ultimately helps make all the decisions for him and his life and future.

DJ remind anyone else of a young Dennis Rodman? The odds are stack against him but hard work usually pays off unlike wishful thinking or faith.

You have an idea of what I do for a living, when I lived in Memphis, I went with one of my salespeople to talk with a homeowner down Getwell, almost across the line into Mississippi. When we pulled up to the house I was surprised to see a McMansion in that area with a lot of acreage. We performed an inspection and drew up a price that we determine by the linear feet of the roofline of the home. It was 5 times what a normal house would cost (meaning it was five times as large). This house had a 4 car garage full of toys, a swimming pool, a home theater to die for, a billiards room, and all of the furnishings one would expect in a home of this stature.

When we sat down at the table, a seemingly average sized young-ish African-American sat down, we agreed upon price, and he wrote a check for $5k to have our service performed. I didn't recognize the name so I asked him if he minded if I asked what he did for a living...he answered with one word:

"Globetrotters"

I did not realize those guys made that much money......

Keron Shine? That's the last memphis globetrotter I can remember.

How often do they perform? That would be really good money to start off his new family with even if he only did it for 2 or 3 years.

There are a lot more than 12 trotters, I know that, and I believe their schedule is damn near year-round (and world-wide). My "year-round" proclamation there is admittedly a SWAG, but the night after they did a multi-night stint in Houston last year, they were off to the thriving dogtropolis that is College Station, TX. They work their asses off in barnstorming fashion, it would appear.

Clarification on Tebowell: The negative forecast was that he couldn't play QUARTERBACK in the NFL, not that he wouldn't PLAY in the NFL. Whether he ever gets another prolonged chance to prove or disprove his qb viability remains to be seen, but most detractors thought he would be a running back and some even thought a speedbacker on defense (linebacker).

From what I have read...they are on the road almost year around between the States and Europe.

That would certainly be rough for a new family. At least he has the option if he is unable to find anything after he graduates. There is no doubt the kid is a hard worker.

Nope, this was a dude I had never heard of. If we had time I would have asked where he played college ball. Never forget Keiron Goin' off on Miami for 35+ pts...he was lights out that day.
