Facebook and ESPN3
I used to subscribe to the Johnson City Press where I'd get the paper in the mail so I could keep up. The media in the Tri Cities is pitiful. Seem to be a bit lazy preferring to guard their desks, eat at restaurants instead of covering events. I'm so glad to be living now in the days of technology. No longer do I have to rely on media...I go social. Facebook and this board has set me free. I'm thrilled that ETSU is taking advantage of ESPN3. The only thing that could make things better for ETSU fans is a tutorial on how to make ESPN3 come through on your HDTV 65-inch put you in the scene television. It keeps getting better to watch Bucs. It's great that ETSU is pushing students to produce "packages" to be placed for download. These are great days to live in a far away place and still meet your Buc fix.

If you have the right Apple devices and access to the Watch ESPN app, getting ESPN3 games up on your tv is really pretty easy. I have done it a couple of times already this season. There are also potentially connections that can be made from a computer directly to your tv to do the same but those are going to be device specific and vary accordingly.

And since you brought it up, I believe that continuing to grow the number and production quality of events that have video streamed live is every bit as important if not more so than what radio station is carrying the games. I cannot honestly think of where an actual radio is in my home right now. Outside of my car, it just is not something I use anymore.

It is truly a great collaborative effort between athletics and academics. It's come a long way from Media100, broken down cameras and duct taped headsets. There's a ton of people out there starting with Mike, Jay, Dr. Roberts, an unbelievably gifted broadcast engineer and roughly 4-5 students who had a passion for ETSU sports.
If anything, the modern day Buccaneer Sports Network is proof that if you get people willing to work and they care enough, alot of really cool stuff can happen there.

The engineer is Daniel Santiago. The work he has performed on behalf of ETSU is amazing. The rest offer expertise in attracting students making sure all positions are covered from camera operators etc. Teacher Tammy Hayes leads the broadcasting area...and Jay has taken ownership. I look forward to faculty helping students put together packaged reports to be placed on the web. This is a great recruiting tool for students to come to ETSU and do academic work that is identical to the real world. ETSU students leave with fat portfolios that demonstrate their skills.

Yea I hear Tammy's done well since Tom retired. And maybe they help now, but there was a time students shot, wrote, edited their own stuff. I remember years ago
there was some doofus with a mouth full of metal and gray hair. It was bad tv but damn its grown from those humble beginnings.

Mister if your 65 inch is a smart TV there might be an ESPN app for it, depending on the TV. Also like BucsFan said you can do it with an Apple TV. I stream all kinds of video to mine, including all the old ETSU basketball videos on YouTube.:)

If you have a laptop you can purchase a dvi to Hdmi cable and then hook your laptop into your tv.

There are other possibilities as well, let me know if you have any questions.

I've seen it posted that the goal is to put all ETSU games on ESPN3. We will see. When you live far, far away....this is heaven. I'm concerned that having every game (on line) for free will impact attendance considering you have to pay to get into the dome.
