And now TSISB has an excuse for the beatdown in the National Championship game. From UHND Football Forum:

"Either way, it's horrible. And explains the champ. game performance. Wonder if team knew ahead of"

No, what explains the championship game performance is that you got the s**t kicked out of you by a team that was way better!

RE: Manti Te'o
Response from the school,

Notre Dame Statement: Manti Te’o

On Dec. 26, Notre Dame coaches were informed by Manti Te’o and his parents that Manti had been the victim of what appears to be a hoax in which someone using the fictitious name Lennay Kekua apparently ingratiated herself with Manti and then conspired with others to lead him to believe she had tragically died of leukemia. The University immediately initiated an investigation to assist Manti and his family in discovering the motive for and nature of this hoax. While the proper authorities will continue to investigate this troubling matter, this appears to be, at a minimum, a sad and very cruel deception to entertain its perpetrators.

Playing the "Teo was the victim" is not the route to take....

yes the victim card doesnt really work... this is what he said in an interview earlier in the year

@ChrisBurke_SI: Te'o in that Rome interview: "I can't describe her. She was my best friend whom I fell in love with."

WOW. Just wow. That is ridiculous. What kind of person goes through all that to make himself look good?

Lets pretend, for a moment, that it was a hoax played on him. That would mean he fell in love with a girl he only knew through online chats? LOL That almost as sad.

In all reality, this sound like a typical Notre Dame cover up caper involving Manti Teo and Notre Dame. All that was missing is Teo tearfully stating Ronald Reagan's lines as the Gipper imploring the team to win one for his girlfriend.

I thought about that too. He and the guy use the "girl" as a way to express something while not offending his religion or macho moron fans by being who he is in that scenario. It wouldn't be surprising.

Really I just think he and the guy cooked it up as some kind of gag and it got out of control.

Ughhh, this is beyond weird. I wish he would have won the Heisman just to add a little extra touch of bizarre to the mix.

So Manti Te'o wasn't missing tackles in the National Championship, he was hugging his girlfriend.
