Cashmere Wright day-to-day with sprained knee
Quote:UC coach Mick Cronin said Wednesday that guard Cashmere Wright is day-to-day with a sprained knee.

Cashmere Wright seemed to be walking without a limp after UC’s 75-70 victory over DePaul on Tuesday night as made his way from the locker room to the trainer’s room, which is a good sign for the Bearcats.

Cashmere Wright
As I wrote in Tuesday’s UC-DePaul game preview, Wright has become the closest thing the Bearcats have to an indispensable player because of the way he has played lately. They almost found out in the second half just how indispensable he is.

Wright appeared on the way to one of the best games of his career with 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting and seven assists when he went down with an injury to his right knee about fived minutes into the second half. It was his left knee that caused him to miss his freshman year with a torn ACL.

He went to the locker room with trainer Bob Mangine, but returned a few minutes later to watch the rest of the game from the bench. Mick Cronin said Wright asked to go back in, but Cronin didn’t want to put him back on the floor unless he knew for sure that his point guard was OK.

Cronin would not permit Wright to talk to the media after the game so there was no way to get his view on what happened or how he felt, but all signs were positive as the team left to board the bus to the airport.

Fortunately for UC, the Bearcats found a way to win without Wright.

“We got to see how other players have to step up when somebody goes down,” said Titus Rubles. “We can’t just rely on one player.”

OK, so maybe that was a positive development, but it was one the Bearcats could do without for the rest of the season.

so i was having physical therapy today due to a meniscus tear and cash was there as well, he seemed to be not limping but by the way he walked i could tell it was not very comfortable he looked to be walking like I was two weeks ago. I am no therapist or expert but from what I saw guys he will probably be out for a couple games. Dont hold me to this though I am simply stating what I saw

No they did not talk about any specifics, he was just walking around with his knee completely wrapped and then sat him down for some motions and then wrapped him up with ice and let him get up and walk. he walked worse with the ice pack and wrap on actually from what I could see.

Did they do an MRI? I don't believe "sprained knee" until they confirm there's no tear with an MRI. Until I see him play I'll assume it's bad and he's going to be out awhile.

Ugh. Good luck on the tear. Brings back not so good memories.

I've dislocated my right knee twice in sports...talk about pain. I've done a lot of physical therapy over the years...it sucks
