I have a feeling that the remaining members will get a very beneficial schedule as much as possible. I would expect Loserville and Rutgers to get no good home games. I would hope that as an emerging football program with elite level basketball, we will benefit from a really good home football schedule (Loserville, Rutgers).

Hate to break it to you, but it matters not where we play next season, if indeed we do play. I'm pretty sure it will be a beatdown of epic porportions. "Emerging fball program" LOL, elite level bball, LOL you guys are comical.

Think it will be as bad as 69-19? Doubt our coach will be standing on the bench waving a white towel.

10 in 2013

10 for 2014 Louisville and Rutgers leave and we pick up ECU and Tulane.... not a real good trade imo.

Hopefully now that everyone that could possibly leave has gone Aresco can add another school for 2014 or 2015 to go with Navy so that we can have 12 football playing schools by 2015.

I'm not a big fan of fb or bb only schools; it's dysfunctional. the nBE really needs to get rid of the Tule, get ECU all in or all out, get Navy all in or all out, and then figure out how to get up to 12 all sports schools.

The sad thing is that the MWC is now a couple of years ahead of us as they already have 12 members and they have likely positioned themselves to win the 'group of five' BCS bid 4 out of 5 years.... They have effectively unseated the BE as the #6 conference or so it appears.

As I've said elsewhere; I'd like to welcome UConn and Temple to CUSA......

The team that SHOULD be left off the MEMPHIS schedule is UCF. Aresco surely has the sense to rotate the Florida schools so you don't travel to both in one year.

Keep the schedule as is and simply pencil in Connecticut and Rutgers to replace Boise State and SDSU.

Personally I hope RU is the home game and the TIGERS travel to UConn.

This post is almost as bad as those by 60's Ole Miss fans who still think Charlie Connerly or Archie Manning are still their quarterback.

Louisville Athletics and specifically, Tom Jurich should serve as a bitter reminder of how far Memphis Athletics has fallen and why.

Now someone can jump in and boast about how Memphis once beat Florida in the 80's.

We haven't really fallen. We've simply stayed the same while they improved football by leaps and bounds.

RC was hired by Memphis in 1996. At the time Louisville was still playing football in what was possibly the worst stadium in Division 1 and Memphis actually led the all time series against the Cards with a 17-15 advantage.

A year later Louisville hired Tom Jurich as their AD and the rest is history.

I agree. You are right about the mid 90s being the big dividing line between Memphis and Louise. Had we had a Jurich like AD come in and take the reigns in 1996, things would have been much different. Instead, R.C. let football rot because he knew that the vast majority of boosters only cared about hoops and R.C. only cared about keeping the boosters happy. We needed a guy with a vision to come in here who understood football was pretty much everything and our football needed a great deal of attention and improvement.

Or someone could post about Middle Tenn finally escaping the Sunbelt and joining the remnants of C-USA.

MEMPHIS will venture upward to the Big East and try to make do.

Ever forward.
