Not sure how true it is, but on bearcattalk.com, someone just posted this:

Quote:Troy was named as a McDonalds All American nominee..... -JackBauer151

I thought Troy was relatively unknown nationally. If true, nice job by him.

He is a nominee..Not taking anything against what he has done because from what Ive seen (which isnt much) I love this guy. But there are a lot of nominees only 30 or so make the team. Still a great accomplishment to do, but I went to high school with a guy who was a nominee and he didnt have a single division 1 offer to play basketball

There are 800 nominees, though I think that includes boys and girls.

They may go 3 guards next year with any combination of those listed as 1s and 2s IMO.

RE: Next year's b-ball starting lineup
I think Guyn will be fine. He's played behind Wright for so long, he rarely gets the playing time he deserves. I think he's a solid player that has good potential. I'm looking forward to him coming out of his shell next year and running the point. Guyn also plays really hard. I like that. I agree about Sanders. Lacking confidence which I think relates to the coaching staff. Sanders will be thrown into the fire next year and I think he will respond fine. He did a decent job against MU the other night. Had a couple defensive misques that caused him to be substituted, be he still played well. He missed a shot and quit shooting.

17 rebounds a game .... for a 6'3" guard?? Those numbers sound screwed up. Its hard averaging those number for even the most dominant big man in high school. What level of competition is he facing? Is he in a small school conference?

Large school division just outside of Richmond, VA. His team is very young this year and starts 3 freshmen so Troy is asked to do a lot of everything, and he does...

I think that is likely too, although one of those "guards" on the floor is likely to be Rubles / Shaq Thomas.

If we get Lawrence it could get even more interesting. 4 guys on the court who can handle the ball, score and rebound and match up hell for other teams.

Feb 3rd. Hopefully he sticks to that date so that whatever schools lose out have a chance to go after their 1b and 1c guys.

Early February is going to be a crazy, hopefully amazing time for UC athletics. Big time for Lawrence, FB recruits, and realignment news.

Geez. What if this current team fails to make the tourney? How would that impact your thinking about next year's team?
