I'd vote for that. Never was a real big fan of the number on the helmet. Works for Alabama; other teams, less so.

I say bring back the "ET".

That sword logo on that helmet is my all-time favorite. Even more so than the old school Bucky on abuc90's posts.

I loved the ET logo. Wish we still used it in some capacity.

I like the Bucs in cursive on the gold helmet too

Because of branding, I wonder if "ETSU" won't find its way on the helmet, rather than just "ET."

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Bucky logo that is used on everything else now.

yeah they will probably go with something fresh....I'd like to see a black or gold helmet with the new Bucky logo on it.

The old Popeye logo was the best logo ever created for etsu. It had, by far, the most character.

Agreed, and it needs to be brought back, at least in a way that teams bring back their old logos in a secondary way (such as how the Braves brought back the Screaming Indian this year).

Old Bucky is Chief Wahoo. Old Bucky is the Browns' Elf. It's Father Knickerbocker, The Running Tiger, The Steelworker Punting on a steel beam.

Let’s hope the branding issue is revisited. Utilize the ET, The East Tennessee BB jerseys, Bucky (pirate), etc . Many Universities understand the need to promote not only with current sports logos, but with older popular logos.

They're going to focus on that ugly Buchead logo and the four letter ETSU brand. Unless they're looking to rip off Middle and try to become the University of East Tennessee, which could be interesting down the road.

I predict that Darth Bucky will be retired... long overdue for a new set of logos. That's what you do to sell more shirts, get new logos. BUT, a school would have to have a demand for shirts first. :-)

It's refreshing to see that all things football are no longer hidden in the cellar. Hopefully Mike Smith will come to speak after he leads the falcons to the super bowl.

Darth Bucky was a horrible design. The intention was to make it look formidable. It came off as angry and uninspired. It tried way too hard.
