Any other gear-heads excited by anything so far? I like the new Lexus IS and the Hyundai HCD looks pretty neat. Undecided on the corvette. Oh, and Ford please actually build this!

I like the back half of the new Stingray and the new dashboard looks outstanding. Unsure about the front, but I'm sure it will grow on me. The exaggerated gills and stingray badge just don't look well thought out to me.
Just from the pictures, I can't see the ATS being the BMW 3 series killer that they are hoping for. Perhaps it looks better in person, but in the pictures it looks incredibly narrow. Somehow it seemed to lose the balanced look that they were able to give the CTS.
i do hope that both of them do well and Ford gets its electronics simplified and more reliable. I'd love to see GM and Ford do well in the world market.

RE: OT: Detroit Auto show
I think the cars generally look pretty damned good this year, which is not always the case. The new Grand Cherokee doesn't appeal to me, but its predecessor didn't either. It does look very pleased with itself, though. The update to the BMW 3 seems mercenary... it doesn't look better, just different enough to render last year's model outdated. There are certain things I'll never be able to endorse (navigation screens, Corvettes). Other than that, it looks like auto design may finally be rejoining the rest of human reality.

The Raptor has a little too much of the Baja look to me. This new concept seems to combine the Raptor and 150 without over stating the racing look. Just personal preference I suppose.
Lots of cool innovations in this one too. The tailgate step that doubles as a ladder rack, the roof storage, LED lit bed, and the interior is pretty damn cool looking for a truck.

Didn't see too much that really caught my eye, but I do like the Infiniti Q50. Though I'd like to see how the coupe looks when that's presented.
