Call to Arms
ALL BEARCAT FANS AND FRIENDS OF THIS PAGE:

We need to email this guy/writer/journalistic clown and let him know what Bearcat fans think of his article on Jaleel Canty. Take note of the article and his email address. I think he is using Canty as a pawn to propagate lies about Cincinnati to further the position of others. I should note that despite all the negatives, TT seems to be doing quite well with recruiting.

RE: Call to Arms
03-lmfao Do you think he really cares? The only thing he's interested in is page views. They print garbage about Michigan often just to generate traffic. Negative articles sell a lot more than positive ones.

With that said, if that's indeed how it happened, who could blame the prospect and his coach for being upset after being strung along for a month? I would be and I'm assuming most people would as well.

The people I feel the worst for are those kids who are legitimate BCS-caliber players, but get dumped at the last minute and everywhere else they considered before committing is full.

I can't hardly explain how another man feels or wheather he "really cares" nor am I going to try on this board. However, a little negative feedback and calling him on the carpet would not hurt. In addition, Canty is still listed in the solid committment column on rivals.com. Not sure if that is a result of rivals not changing the post or if he still has connections to UC. We all feel bad for the kids. The NCAA still does not feel a need to act on any of these situations. I don't think it's realistic for the NCAA to legally police all contracts, but it should be common knowledge and required that any coach that leaves in the middle or during his contract, must sit out one year and refrain from involvement with any players. If he were to continue talking and recruiting for his new job, then the punishment would continue into the next. That's simple and can be tracked. It's also logical because if the player must sit out when he transfers under most conditions, then so should the head coach and all his staff.

So yes, send an email to the writer. It's the least we can do right now !!

RE: Call to Arms
I think it is crappy too. That being said, the pressure on coaches to win immediately is immense and they have to be able to bring in their own recruits if you put that kind of pressure on them. It sucks but it is what it is. I hope that everyone who has had their scholarships pulled lands on their feet.
