HuskieJohn, you really think DD would have got our job without a good word from Bielema, that is sending him on in my eyes. Oh and he did take a coordinator from here. He had enough respect to scoop up Canada. Canada doesn't get that job just because, it's due to the fact he like what he had to offer and did it at a respectable institution.

Canada also had BIG10 O-coordinator experience at Indiana previously.

I don't remember ever reading a comment by AD Compher asking Bielema for his opinion on DD.

Bielema was desperate for a B1G OC. Canada was cheap and had a reasonable resume.

Canada seems to have not really been high on BBs list as he was not brought to Arkansas.

I don't know, I find it extremely hard to believe Compher wouldn't know that Bielema would have a high opinion on DD. Not to mention, I cannot find it at the moment, don't they have releases with what others in the industry say about your new head coach. I can believe Compher didn't make a comment on talking to Bret, but if he didn't at least ask for Bret's opinion, Compher failed to do his due diligence and is either a genius or got extremely lucky with DD. And I don't think it's either of those.

People such as Compher usually do not make specific comments about the interview...private matter...
