Nader just doesn't have it today. Ugh.

Trap forces a timeout, the D really impressing me today.

Well, the wheels certainly fell off. The offense still needs to find some consistency.

I like when Nader doesn't settle for the jumper and forces the issue by driving. He's much more effective, I think.

How long does Monty have to turn the program around? He's likable, but NIU should be batting at least 500 by now.

He hasn't had two full years yet. That's ridiculous.

I know fans are impatient, but to me, a guy should get at least 4 years unless he's just brutal.

thats just ignorant. Patton was given 4 years and made the team worse. There is already noticeable improvement in just 1.5 years of Monty. Its not an easy fix.

RE: Zips @ Huskies predictions
Frustrating game, and not just because the refs couldn't go 30 seconds without a whistle (it went both ways, so I'm not claiming bias).

NIU didn't get outrebounded too badly, the turnovers were even, free throws were pretty even....NIU just couldn't make enough shots. Gotta give Akron credit, they just made more shots.

Nader had a brutal game too. 1-14 from three for the Huskies, a game after they were lights out from the three. It happens.

Still liked how NIU played for about 30 minutes of this game.

Patton should never have been hired, and lingered 2 years too many. Don't use that jack ass as a measuring stick. My point is, at the end of this season, a verbal notion of hitting 500 with his own recruits next year or start the hot seat talk. I'm not talking MAC championship, I'm talking winning half our games. Thats not unreasonable talk with season 2 already in the toilet.

and my point was that it is way too early to even consider putting Monty on the hot seat. It is not unreasonable to want to win half the games, but you also have to remember how bad the program was for Monty coming in. It took Novak several years to turn the program around, have some patience for Monty to do the same. How is that for a comparison?

Basketball seems like a smaller boat, and hence a smaller turning radius... but I'm with you guys, hope he has some good recruits lining up.

Monty is an excellent coach. He's got this group playing hard to the end. Ref's were bad but Akron is just better.

Akron will smack around every team in West this year. Nothing to be embarrassed about. I think we should be used to this after years of being bullied by the Zips.

Akron was just a better team. They already beat Penn State by 20. NIUfilmaker, your post was the dumbest I have ever heard. Monty is doing just fine.

RE: Zips @ Huskies predictions
We play Ohio next, that will be a loss. Then we play at home next Saturday night and I think we will win. If we are 2-2 in conference after playing the two best teams, I will be very happy with that.
