Just looking back a dozen years or so, this team is statistically the worst at defending the 3. The 2003-04 team that beat South Carolina in the NCAA tournament was close (35.8%)

Just looking back a dozen years or so, this team is statistically the worst at defending the 3. The 2003-04 team that beat South Carolina in the NCAA tournament was close (35.8%)
The book on the Tigers this year seems to be setting high picks to get open shots for their three point shooters. Maybe mixing in a 3-2 zone will help the cause.

Just set high picks and get whatever you want most of the times...They did a better job with it against ECU...They would hedge the backside guy would cover quickly until the big would get back to his man. Their threes at the top were deep or by their bigs (which our guys are not used to defending). The ones from the corners were due to baseline screens and guards penetrating and kicking the ball back out (sometimes off the high screen).
But as you said teams are still having far too much success with that high screen at the top of the key. We really didn't see that problem until Louisville, but we have seen teams try it every game since.
