That problem will fix itself with players leaving and transferring. Also, while having all that talent is a good problem to have, I'm sure it could turn into a headache for Josh. Let's be honest, we can say all day long..."whoever practices the hardest will play"...and that's partly true. However, we've seen Josh struggle on settling on a rotation this year. How's he going to when ALL those guys want PT. It's possible some highly rated players don't get much PT and that could hurt us in recruiting.
FWIW, I think we'll lose 6-7 this off-season (including grads) so it wont be as big of a concern. Great teams need great talent and we will certainly have enough. For everyone who said "no excuses" this year, there certainly won't be any room for excuses next year...
How are you coming up with 6 to 7? We will lose 3 to graduation (DJ, Hall, Stan), and have to lose one more to either the draft or a transfer (Adonis or Hipp). How are you coming up with 2 to 3 more losses? So you think we will go into next season with only 10 to 11 scholarship players?
DJ Stephens - Graduation
Stan Simpson - Graduation
Ferrokahn Hall - Graduation
Antonio Barton - Transfer closer to family/eligible immediately due to early graduation rules
Hippolyte Tsafack - Transfer to a lower-level program, maybe NAU with Jack.
Joe Jackson - Could turn pro early
Adonis Thomas - Could turn pro early
Even if we lost all of them, we'd still be fine. We'd have 10 scholarship players, plus Sam Craft, and maybe a transfer, late recruit, or JUCO guy. We'll be fine.
Yea we would be fine, and any one of those situations are plausible, but highly unlikely they all happen. Joe isn't gonna be a first round lock so he stays. Antonio didn't leave this season so I doubt he would next. And Hipp won't leave unless he is pushed out, which Josh won't do unless he has to. Four people have to go at the end of this year, I could possibly see five happening. No way six or seven leave.
Joe wants to be a pro. If he continues to play at his current level, he could sneak into the draft. Even if not, it wouldn't be the first time someone left before they were ready. Barton hadn't graduated last year. And if you don't think Josh would "highly recommend" Hipp transferring, then you're crazy.
