I have to agree after attending a game last September, the restrooms and concession areas are cramped and seriously outdated. I hope that can be addressed sooner rather than later.
Having said that, I'll still make it up there for the game experience
Agree. This board has great NIU fans and others who bring lively discussion. To have a forum of free discussion is a wonderful way to
express support for NIU athletics and its improvement.
Certain schools use people managed scoreboards.
It is very cost effective. Fan experience comprises of a love for NIU FB, mass bonding of NIU fans and NIU winning.
Flashy scoreboards are a new and inefficient means of allocating scare athletic dollars. We cannot compete with other top 25 programs stadiums. Our goal is to allocate scare resources wisely in order to maximize our chances of winning games within the rules and have enjoyment in Spartan facilities.
Improved Concessions will bring in more revenue.
Improved washrooms will bring in more fans and help sell more food. According to McDonalds people buy less foods with messy washrooms.
Not ticketing cars during FB games, opening up more lots for fans with kids, organizing more group socials , reunions at FB games will increase attendance. REdoing up rooms in HS, putting high definition TV's in them
and making them handicap accessible will attract fans who are older and do not like the cold. Maybe if legal we could have many rooms rent them to companies, or people for parties during games and serve alcohol in these restricted areas. a Partial revamping of the WEst side and making them handicap accessible according to ADA guidelines must be a possibility. I find it hard to believe the West stands revamping are an all or nothing deal. There must be a way to provide wheel chair accessibility to part of the West stand and easy access parking for handicapped drivers.
Having a $3M scoreboard with bad washrooms, bad concessions and a west side in accessible to handicapped alumni is like a bad apple.
It looks great on the outside but when you bite into it you want to spit it out.
