We hate you too buddy. FIU's goal has always been of join CUSA so one can only imagine how ecstatic we are. Having FAU join is just icing on the cake. I'm glad that FIU's administration felt the same way and lobbied on behave of FAU to join the league. It is important for our schools to continue to develop our rivalry. This will help both institutions grow. Go CUSA!!!

This league will grow and become good. The close traveling distances will make for some good rivalries. The new schools will be aided in better recruiting and more money.

Without a doubt, really good programs have departed this conference. Given the circumstances, CUSA has done an amazing job positioning its self and stockpiling with programs with incredible potential. I know as fans we all want instant gratification but thank God our administrators look beyond that. I honestly believe that this conference has a bright future and that it has more potential today than it did a few years ago. The sky is the limit!

No, it will be "officially joining" in 2013 for MT if it happens. There is no difference in "plays" and "officially joins" for us. FIU is 2013 with UNT, LA Tech, UTSA.

ODU is 1 year behind that - On the schedule in '14, eligible for conf title & bowls in '15

I welcome all the new fans to our conference and I will say I am glad to have some programs that have already proven themselves on the gridiron, as well as those who I believe will be tough future opponents. I have been a Southern Miss fan since before the conference came about and I feel it is as strong a group of teams with potential strong teams that I have seen. I can say in the history of the conference there has been only one program that I was glad left (Louisville, they were a problem), and I was getting to where I didn't care for the South Florida program at the end of their time in the conference. Otherwise the former teams have usually been great.

FAU will find out at the end of the month after all the meetigns are done if we are going in 2013 or will wait till 2014. I have no "hard" percentage chances but it is being discussed.

Charlotte won't join for football until 2015. All other sports will be 2013.

That's not certain at this point. We have asked to be conference championship and bowl eligible in the year we start conference play, 2014. Probably won't happen but it is worth noting.

Well, there have been reports of a BE meeting in Dallas today. Maybe we will find very soon.

Ha! I see most of the nastiness coming from the fans of schools staying in CUSA (ahem, Tallgrass and a few Marshall and USM posters). Sure people respond after that, but there's not much unprovoked denigration of CUSA coming from the departing fans.

However, to fans of the arriving schools: it isn't usually like this...only when schools announce their leaving. It got nasty like this back in 2004, and history has proven to repeat itself. After the start of the new sports calendar, when the rest of us are gone; it should calm down.

I've avoided talking down to the remaining fans...not worthwhile, and I usually pride myself on remaining civil.
