Regardless of the outcome, playing UAB is my favorite conference game. I hope it continues in the future and honor the man so instrumental to both team's success.

Only way that I think the series continues is if enough Memphis fans make it known that they want it to continue. Unfortunately, I don't think there will be enough Memphis fans interested in seeing it continue. I'm sure UAB and Memphis will still meet up on occasion in the NCAAs, NIT, etc but I certainly will miss the annual game.

UAB can play us every season if they like....at FedExForum

I wouldn't agree to a home-home...no benefit for us

I think it is possible to do a home and home in one season OOC every season.

I think both sides would enjoy that

we have to play 18 home games every season...I simply doubt we would offer UAB a home-home...no disrespect

so the guy who thinks we're too good to keep playing UT and Mississippi is going to sign a home-home with UAB instead?

Regardless of what you think of UAB, you know the Blazers will settle for nothing less than a home and home with Memphis or there will be no games played between the two schools next year or for the unforseeable future.

UAB fans haven't really explained why Memphis should play UAB. For some reason many of you guys think we're just obligated to because for years now Memphis has been the only home game UAB draws consistently well. Do you really think Pastner cares about that?

Birmingham offers little in terms of basketball recruiting (neither does Knoxville), so other than to celebrate Bartow (which can be done just as well at the Forum) what does a home and home offer Memphis?

I like playing UAB, but I just think the series does more of the Blazers than Memphis. At least until UAB starts consistently making NCAA tournaments again.

Which is why many, if not all, think the series is over for the foreseeable future. Which is ok. Both programs will move on and do their thing.

Correct! and if the Tigers are too good to play us any more then we'll just move on. UAB drew crowds before Memphis was our biggest conference foe and we will after they leave. Memphis has not always been our biggest "rival" in conference.

Why does every UAB fan make it about "Memphis being too good" to play UAB? It isn't about being too good. It's about cost/benefits. The series doesn't benefit Memphis enough to justify a home and home type deal. It just doesn't, at least not until UAB starts winning consistently again. And you haven't since Mike Anderson. Some of you are being narrow minded about this issue.

It has nothing to do with being "too good"...signing a home-home with UAB provides no real benefit to Memphis...

oh, so who is UABs biggest CUSA basketball rival?

'No Benefit to Memphis' and 'nothing to gain' are the type of excuses Bama uses to not play us. What would Memphis get? A free home game every other year from an old conference rival. Who has the better all time win %? Look it up.

I see no way the series continues.
