That would be a devastating change if it occurred, and very very bad for college basketball.

It sounds like it would be for all sports not just bball. This would be very bad for mid-majors. The NIU bball team had a 3.2 gpa over the summer. With this rule many could transfer. The big boys would be after all the mid-majors best players. I would think you would be making it harder to transfer not easier.

it would work the other way,too.......NIU could get some Big Ten transfer who were unhappy with playing time......I would trust our coaches to have relationships with kids wherein they may be less likely to transfer.....also might help kids with lateral moves which would free up scholarships...
