I appreciate the suggestions. My wife picked from the roster y'all kindly provided and she selected John's City Dinner. I hope after the game to celebrate or drown our sorrows at Avondale Brewery. Thanks again.

Whatever the outcome, the Miss Fancy from Avondale will help with the celebrations or the sorrow. They're delicious and dangerous. Proceed with caution.

Yes, I have been to Botega's a time or two.

Outside of Burly Earles, I have not eaten at any place downtown.

im still pissed about the son destroying that place. we used to go to burly's about three times a month. of course that place is probably responsible for several of my cronic medical issues.

I would be just as happy going to the hot dog place on 2nd Avenue North as well. I believe it was called Gus' Hotdogs.

There also was a hotdog place right close to the BJCC.

Heck, I am cultured enough that I have even been by Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.

Mugshots isn't close to downtown either - roughly 20 minutes - but it's worth the drive to me. Plus we'll be open late after the game. That's where I'll be anyway.

15% for UAB employees with an employee ID. Not sure why we don't do anything for students.

+1 for Mugshots - awesome place (second to Milo's)

We arrived early and we had an opportunity to walk around downtown and went to the art museum. I am far from an art expert, but I enjoyed it. I wish we had more time to really see the collection. I liked the fountain at Linn Park.

Dinner was delightful at John's City Dinner.

Thanks again for the suggestions and good luck the rest of the season (except playing Memphis, of course).

I'm glad you had a good time.

Birmingham isn't a bad place. It's a relatively nice place with a serious self-esteem problem.
