It appears that the everyone's negative comments about Bowen last week is having a postive effect. No doubt in my mind he screwed up but glad to see that he appears to be trying to work on his shortcomings (I hope Wolo can follow his lead). I am quite sure he wouldn't be on the radio now if it hadn't become such a big deal.

BTW - I don't think most of the posters that BBQ'd him think he is an all around idiot, just an idiot about PR and general communications (I only used 'idiot' because it was the term you choose. I would say he struggles with PR and communication though. A big difference in my opinion. I don't think it helps matters by misrepresenting and inflaming others by using terms like 'miscreants'. Perhaps it was your intent to be funny but that is not how it comes across. JMO

I'm not misrepresenting anything- I've heard that exact word used by some at the AOB to describe this bunch that has taken over this board.

I don't think you speak accurately for "most Tiger fans". In fact, I think most Tiger fans would only be for continuing BB against UTK IF UTK also played us in an equal number of years in FB - home & away alternating. UTK hasn't even fulfilled its FB obligation in what will be almost 10 years from the current contract's orignal intent. Playing FB adds the only possible benefit to our university agreeing to continue the BB competition.

So to Bowen, listen to your BB coach who has the primary responsibility for scheduling, learn to be a team player, present yourself professionally rather than run rough shod over your BB coach, don't make unilateral announcements & contradict your BB coach in public, work with your BB coach to achieve a BB schedule that offers the best opportunities for your team to succeed (record & NCAA invitations), best entertainment value for your fans, and brings the best financial benefit to the university. You can do all of those things without appearing unprofessional by poor communications, making public announcements without coordinating agreement with your head coach, by engaging and listening to fans and by building consensus within your athletic dept and university admin.

Lots of idiots on this board, but they are Tiger idiots, God Bless 'em.

Bowen just hasn't been a good communicator. As an administrator, not an idiot.

Totally different than saying someone is an "idiot" or that they "don't know what the hell they are doing".

I think Memphis should lock the S$C out of our own hometown. They can invite us in their league if they want to play us, jmo.
