That's a 23% increase in games where Cincinnati played teams that the fans probably didn't know existed. The fact that fans are coming out to see UC play the cupcakes of the schedule is really, really encouraging.

That was when the fans believed the hype about this team. It won't hold from here on out if the team continues to lose in the Big East.

I've noticed a lot of big programs seem to be having attendance problems. For example, I'm watching West Virginia verses Texas tonight, and there seem to be a lot of empty seats. I blame some of this on late starting times on week nights.

With those percentages, it seems most if not all of the increase is coming from the student section, not the paying kind of folks.

I believe there was a rule put in place this year regarding student tickets that required a student to attend all of home games before the shootout in order to get free student tickets to the Classic (er...shoot out). I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure I remember reading that.

It appears to me that the student section has shrunk from the entire space behind the basket on each side, to just the middle section, so the 179% increase probably isn't very much.

Last night I bought some tickets during UC's "Happy Hour" promotion, great seats had at ridiculously low prices IMO. I usually make a few BB games a year, but have been much more often this year.

Good news. I think fans feel this new conference alignment is serious and they need to start supporting UC. Hopefully improvements like this will only mean better things in the future.
