What nBE team is known nationally less than EMU/CMU/WMU?

and the Sun Belt will be picked off by CUSA even more before that happens too.

Yep and the MAC will still be well.. the MAC. Sitting tight makes sense to a point but we really do compete in the lowest level league in FBS. There are Sun Belt teams that pay their coaches more than us and draw better. I feel the MAC can only hang on in its current state so long. The gap between the haves and have nots is about to grow exponentially once the playoff switch is flipped. The bigger programs are going to try and muscle out the littlest guys or at least make it very uncomfortable. Seriously, how long can a program like EMU keep fielding a team with 4K in the stands and reliance on corporate donors to hit attendance targets. If the additional pay for players goes in it will only get tougher.

East Carolina, 40K+ for a conference game in November. Would you rather be playing conference ball there or in front of 12 people at EMU. Come on! There is zero comparison.

RE: BR - Huskies to Big East...
Quick recap of some Big East Teams

Not including Cincy, UConn and SD State

ECU – 5 bowl games last 6 years. Usually 7-9 win team w/ 50k attendance average

USF – started playing football in 1997. 6 straight bowls from 2005-2010. Then Leavitt punched a player, lied about it and Skip Holtz made them suck.

UCF – Inconsistent under O’Leary, but he’s also taken them to 5 bowls since ’05. Seems like they either win 10+ games a season and then lose 8 the next season. Great program though

Houston – In a rebuilding year. Won 13 games in 2011, 10 in 2009.

SMU – back on track w/ June Jones. 4-straight Bowl games, with three of those being wins

Temple – Nothing special
Tulane – bad
Memphis - Bad

Shall I go through the MAC? 03-puke

The last 3 really aren't that bad too...

Temple – Nothing special
...other than plays in a great NFL stadium in a great city (behind Chicago IMO)

Tulane – bad
New Orleans > Any other MAC team location
Also will be in an NFL stadium for a few more years.

Memphis - Bad
...but good dry rub!
Serious consideration for a road trip.

I'm not so sure that "you could always go back to the MAC if it failed". They took us back once already but if we divorce them after remarrying them, I am not so sure they would accept us back a third time.

I'm not saying that it would not be worth a conversation with the Big Least when and if the time comes; I am saying that assuming that you can go back to the MAC if it does not work out is not a good contingency plan.

Agreed. If we make the move there is NO turning back!

That absolute #1 downside to going to the BE would be the challenge it would be on CheerDad and HuskieBob to be at every game.

I am sure going from Kent St to Idaho will be hard enough this year if that does hold true.

The Big East is weakened now, but if NIU joins, the Big East immediately becomes a legitimate conference. 04-rock

Adding Tulsa also wouldn't be a bad thing.
