RE: Sorry...But Texas A & M Should Be The National Champions

As such, the best any league can do is crown a Champion. Sometimes the champion is the best team, often times it is not. A playoff is the best objective way to determine a champion when there are a limited amount of regular season games and a large number of participants (as opposed to a regular season champion in which all teams play each other, preferably home and away). Arguing who was the best team will always occur. Arguing who the champion is only occurs in flawed systems like the BCS.
I admire the European model of round robin. It too has flaws (some teams grow as time goes on, injuries affect games and key matchups, weather can affect games, road trips cumulative effect etc...). I guess a round robin and a short playoff would be the best way to do things. The MLB did a good job of this early on, with round robin play in each league before the winner of each league squared off in the World Series.

I'm sure you guys have earned a few championships in the last few years given the logic of this thread. You can't expect to be champs every year.
RE: Sorry...But Texas A & M Should Be The National Champions
You might believe A&M fans should be happy for having a great year in their first season in the SEC. A 11-2 record, a Heisman Trophy winner, a Cotton Bowl victory over former Big XII rival Oklahoma and the ESPN/CBS propaganda machine pumping the Aggies and Johnny Football. But nope. It's all about Texas for them and how they're better than Bevo now.
I've never seen a fanbase being so obsessed about another school. And I thought UCLA fans (I used to be one before I attended UTEP) were obsessed with USC but A&M fansntake that word to another level.

Yep. In this video, the Aggie reporter says that he was for the move to the SEC, not because it is a "poke in the eye" to UT but because A&M got to "control their own destiny" and get into the best conference (read: so we could rub it in to UT).
Of course, the highlight of the video is the girl asking "Where's the weed?" at the :41 second mark.

You've obviously never been to Coogfans and seen how often they talk about Texas and A&M.

Now that is disappointing. It was working when I linked it.

With an 8 or 16 team play-off they would have eliminated 'Bama.
Texas A & M: 2013 NCAA National Champions and you dont' think the 'Bama players don't really know that deep inside? Think again.
GMG!
Bama would beat A&M 8 out of 10 times on a neutral-field and 9 out of 10 times in Tuscaloosa. The Aggies are living off of the 1 out of 10 times where everything went right for them.
You cannot possibly prove this. You can't even make a legitimate argument for this because the opposite happened ON THE FIELD. And that is my issue with college football right now. Who really though Notre Dame was the best team in the country this year? Maybe some Notre Dame fans? And every media guy was trying to talk up Notre Dame's defense and how the front 7 matched up. Well they didn't. At all. And that was proven ON THE FIELD. Who really though Florida was the 3rd best team in the country? They struggled against Jacksonville and ULaLa. Who can definitively say that Alabama was better than Oregon? It's a joke of a system, and should have never been put into place. You do realize that guys are allowed to vote in a poll(that is a third of the BCS standings) that is capable of determining if they get a bonus or not, right? Me, I like to see thing handled on the field. Don't tell me team X is better than team Y because team X plays in the SEC and the SEC is the bestest thing on this damn planet. Let me see the games played, and then I'll agree we have a true champion.

UT fans are obsessed with ATM being obsessed with them. The aggies talk way too much about Texas (which is understandable to an extent as the #2 program in the state striving for #1), but Texas thinks everything a&m does is because they're SO obsessed with UT. Texas vanity + A&M jealousy = an incredibly annoying sports atmosphere to grow up in.

Highly debatable. Give Saban a month to gameplan for A&M.
Also, you completely ignore the fact Lacy was injured in that game. If he was healthy, Bama scores from the 5 in 4 tries. Bama wins.
However, I still thought the two best teams were Georgia and Oregon. Georgia had that SEC title game right in their hands. Were the better team IMO. Bama just found a way to win. Still mad Stanford beat Oregon. The Ducks were a damn good team this year. That KState game was not even competitive.
If you had A&M-Oregon-Bama-Georgia in a final 4. I think that would have been some incredible games.

A win is a win.. No matter if you have the game in hand or find a way.. That's what seperates a good team from a great team.. A good team almost wins.. A great team finds a way to bring home the win.
