Kennasaw Football timeline
They go for the official vote on Tuesday to their Board of Regents, that's a rubber stamp. Then will host an event on Jan. 9th at the University to discuss the State of Athletics.

Looking for an FCS home.

Finally.

A school that did not exist until 1963 and founded as a junior college, becoming a senior college in 1976, passes ETSU by in athletics. Remember, ETSU started playing Division I basketball in 1958, and, of course played football from 1923 until 2003.

Like I said in another post, ETSU athletics is currently at a crossroads. ETSU either makes a move forward in the near term or is destined to fall further backwards.

Suburb of Atlanta is the difference. Also, a very impressive president who grew the place.

On the flip side their basketball program right makes ETSU look awesome. Academic penalties have crippled them

Georgia lottery scholarship was the difference. Uga had to cap enrollment and raise its' standards shipping Georgia kids everywhere else. Kennesaw grew by default.
They're a mess athletically, though this is a good development for them.
Who knows, maybe a nice landing spot for Derek Dooley?

Dooley makes sense actually. Georgia ties and they could probably get him.

They'd be foolish not to make the call, though it just hit me who KSU's current A.D. is. He's a pretty sharp guy.
I just realized something, we actually agreed on something. Should I insult you, or perhaps you lob one at me or what here? It's a little awkward actually seeing eye to eye. 04-cheers03-nutkickCOGS

Haha. I know! Maybe 2013 will be a more hospitable year as well as a positive change for ETSU athletics.

Damn I hope so. I could've unleashed a string of obscenities last night that would've made the dad from A Christmas Story blush.
It didn't matter that the officials were really, REALLY BAD. Watching the Virginia Intermont basketball team dressed in ETSU uniforms last night was enough to make anyone puke.

Kennesaw State Football Decision Deferred

The article that I read said these "deferred decisions" happen with the Board, the old "further study" delay. I wonder if there's not some other political playing going on with the other football-playing schools in the state?? Atlanta and the metro-area has been such a hot bed for recruiting for lower-end FBS and FCS level schools for so long, I have to think that adding another FCS school to the mix just makes the recruiting game so much more of an unknown and open to games being played by those already up and running.

Sounds like the rubber stamp is still there but the "delay tactics" pushes a timeline back more for Kennesaw.
