Hardly. But UNT is .500 against them in football. Can you make that claim?

No, I was saying USM is the 2'nd coming of Notre Dame, Einstein, and how lucky CUSA is to have them in it and if the Big East could just get that Hattiesburg (sp?) TV market in it it would save their day. Didn't you read between the lines?

I will aslo add new entry La Tech best I can recall is the only one of present or future CUSA members who got a Top 25 ranking last Fall, too. Moral of Post: It seems we all sorta'
need to pull for each other than shoot each other and what some on this board call Sun Belt 2.0 down on a regular basis. Continue to bloom where planted? I see real legitimate and bonafide upside with the new CUSA, but what do I know, I've only been following NCAA football for over 45 years now.

Green Menace, sorry to correct you on this but North Texas is (3-2) against Boise St. We are correcting all that we need
to correct in Mean Green Country to get on a similar path as the BSU Broncos yet we are still obviously a work in progress, but
I do like the upside of what North Texas can do with wins even moreso than the Hayden Fry era when I was a student. All UNT constituencies
have tripled and some even quadrupled in size since the Fry Era in Denton and I'm talking enrollment, DFW alumnus number (now over 200,000), city of Denton
at 110,000 population and our home base of Denton County (part of the official 5 county DFW Metroplex) approaching 700,000 population.

DFW is a winners town (or market) so to speak and North Texas is the kind of school that can make winning and subsequent great attendance numbers
at Apogee Stadium become real hand in hand Texas 2-steppin' 'podnuh's (if you will). Seriously, most all of us from North Texas actually
admire what USM has done, but many of us and posters from other schools on this forum do get tired of a handful of their alum's condescending and
arrogant attitudes along with a continual put-down of the new CUSA. I'd bet there are now 1 or 2 who wished they'd never left it, but of course would never admit that
in a thousand years. Even the Tulsa U president went recently on record saying the same thing. (Now after his saying that watch them leave for the MWC)! LOL!

Yep. The conference would be full of schools that are failing in football, or just starting football.

When USM plays UNT, you'll think it's Notre Dame.

Looking at your icon or monkier of a basketball player you want CUSA to be a C7 2.0 now? LMAO!

No, I think he means that since we are in such a small rural town like Hattiesburg, the new additions may not be able to find us.03-lmfao

Or maybe he means the nBigEast which is really the old CUSA will lose us to then nCUSA which is really the old Sunbelt.04-cheers

Well, it seems to me it leagues like the Sun Belt and the MAC who are winning some bowl games with one football program from one of those conferences even sending a team to a BCS bowl buster type of bowl game. (FWIW, I remember when UNT was in a league called the Big West that had a team or school in it that no one knew about at the time named Boise State--seems they are fairing well of late).

How many CUSA teams could have beaten ULM, U of L or Arkansas State this last season? Remember ULM who beat a (then) ranked #8 Arkansas Razorbacks earlier in the season and then the next week amost beat Auburn I believe it was? AND U of L who just won their 2'nd NO"s Bowl in a row before the largest non Big Boys bowl crowds to date? They also beat Big East bound San Diegel State in last year's NO's Bowl, too.

Yet all of the above happening while some of the mid major Big Boys sit back and let the whole entire sports world know how damn important they are to the sustenance of NCAA football and how it might all fall apart if not for their presence in it.

What? That was a couple of jokes. The first being a play on Southern Miss being in a small rural city and the new schools not being able to "find" us. The second being a play on whether the original poster meant the Old CUSA (the new big East) not being able to convince us to come and losing us to the new CUSA, or the new CUSA (old Sunbelt) losing us to the New Big East (old cusa).

There was nothing meant to slam anyone's play on the field. I didn't even mention the MAC 01-wingedeagle01-wingedeagle

Statesboro to Savannah- 55 miles

Statesboro to Macon-125 miles(about thirty miles further than Macon is from Athens)

I've heard some ridiculous market claims in my day, but this one might beat all.

People are reluctant to give us credit for Nashville and that's only 36 miles from Murfreesboro. I guess it's a good thing you stopped short of actually claiming Atlanta considering Statesboro is less than ten miles closer to Atlanta than Murfreesboro is. I guess we should start claiming Chattanooga(closer to us than two of your markets) Huntsville same distance as you are from Augusta, and Knoxville(same distance as you are from Jacksonville.

Marshall can add the Lexington, Cincinnati and Columbus markets to our territory under his reasoning

I don't trust the Nielsen markets.

There are people who live within sight of a Jonesboro TV transmitter who are in the Little Rock TV market according to Nielsen but they can't get Little Rock TV with a standard antenna. There are people who work and shop in Jonesboro and watch Jonesboro TV because it covers their local government and their local high schools but they are in the Memphis market which doesn't cover their high schools or even give their game scores and a Memphis remote truck isn't showing up unless it's a triple murder. Jonesboro is 20 to 40 miles closer than Memphis in those towns but its a Memphis TV market.

Don't believe everything you hear, or read on the internet. Why would we have been pursuing it for the last 10 years? And trust me, we have been, even though we are not as vocal about it.

We did $70 million in upgrades on our stadium and other facilities to move to the SunBelt? I don't think so. Do you realize how much the suites are per game? Do you not think our boosters would come up with money to move us to a better conference? Really? Trust me, they would. The setback we've had is temporary and is being way over dramatized, and should have never been made public. Mistake by an inexperience AD. Our program is no more in a dire state than most of the programs out there. I'm not saying we've got money coming out the ears, but it's just not as bad as the internet sites like deadspin have tried to make it look. In fact, if not for the dumb*** EJ hire we made a year ago, it wouldn't even be part of the conversation. But regardless of what you and others might have read, the Nebraska game was not sold to cover that. It is being covered with private money. Who stated that? Our president. The Nebraska game was sold to cover a some debt and (partially brought on by the 0-12 season) and to help us put us in a better position going forward. The media likes to dramatize everything because it sells better or gets more hits on the web. Things aren't great, are not where we prefer them to be, but Southern Miss is fine.

If CUSA lost Tulsa, USM, and UTEP; could everyone request a do-over in realignment?

Instead of moving programs, we could just move conference names and shuffle 3 or 4 programs around and accomplish the same thing.

overstated, but not far from what the net result would be
