HUSKIE Fans traveled well
The turnout was impressive for the Orange Bowl.....at least what I saw on TV and reading earlier Dog Pound posts. I hope this translates to solid crowds at Iowa and Purdue.

I spoke with a few N. Dakota State fans today here in Dallas, where they played a FCS championship game. Talk about fan support.....they took over 3/4 of the stadium. Of course, who wouldn't want to get away from Fargo in January

NIU fans certainly exceeded expectations in selling much more of their allotted tickets then expected, in addition to the incredible TV ratings. SEcond highest Bowl coverage ever in Chicago market.

No doubt that the tv ratings were great...it won it's time slot! As a long time HUSKIE fan, it's hard to even comprehend that a HUSKIES game won it's time slot in the ratings. And it beat last year's (all BCS) Orange Bowl ratings. But, to set the record straight regarding the Chicago market, it was the second highest ratings ever for an ESPN game.

It'll probably be 3rd highest after the national championship game, but the fact that we garnered the highest for ratings in Chicago for everyone other than ND is very impressive. Not even U of I or NU could garner that high of a rating for their BCS games.

so ratings were up and the country decided that they still love watching the underdog ? What? Kirk, did you hear that you piece of crap? No way the country showed up to watch FSU, they are hated nationally.
I wonder if Kirky got yelled at for bashing his own networks game? Sorry, I am still not over it, I hate that pretty boy loud mouth OSU piece of crap.

+1 I am like an elephant in that I NEVER forget when somebody bashes my Huskies. Like those nasty Wisconsin fans at Soldier field...I put the evil hex on Wisconsin that day to those fans. Why do you think they've lost 3 Rose Bowls in a row? 03-shhhh 03-lmfao

10k in the East stands rather than 4-6k would make a good impression for the game day experience for those long lost or new fans in the West stands.

I think we will see an increase next year - not as great as it would be were we to win the OB, but a definite improvement. It would sure help if our first game were against a more marquee opponent!

At least it's against an in-state school and not UT Martin again. Should get a slight bump from that.

I think there will be a very big crowd for the first home game. If the Huskies beat Iowa, it will be at or near a sell out.

The NIU fans stepped up BIG time, making financial/personal sacrifices to support the team. I would like to see Carey, Compher, and players/university acknowledge that as well after licking their wounds from the loss. It was a great experience for all.

They play a lot better with the home blacks.

So you want us to wear away uniforms for a home game?

No thanks.

Also no thanks to that jersey with those pants again.

I would bet on the black jerseys.

You'll probably get the black jerseys 3 times, for the home opener, Homecoming, and Ball State, red jerseys for the other 2.
