ECU will co-brand with Marvel Comics. ECU is the only school requested by Marvel that is not in the ACC, SEC, PAC 12, BE, Big 10 or Big 12




Eventually, I think around 200 schools will be involved. I'm guessing these schools are just the first round selected. Marvel/comics isn't my thing, but for those who enjoy it look for it to feature your school soon. The first batch hits retail in the fall.

Being a big comics AND college sports fan, I guess I don't understand the cross or mix between the two? Use the image in the OP as an example - there's really nothing connecting Kansas State together with Thor other than they colored Thor in the Kansas State purple. Just confusing, if you ask me.

Totally agree in premise...but, I think they call it marketing revenue...just because it doesn't make sense logically, doesn't mean it won't make money....promoting future movie revenue with the youngest generation today...actually makes cents from that perspective...

would be kinda cool if the schools would let marvel re-imagine the schools mascots and adapt them to a comic book style.

From what I've heard, Marshall's licensing can be a pain to deal with. It wouldn't shock me if Marshall was completely left out of this...

It's rather simple Marvell sells picture books and they understand what the average ECU fan is capable of reading

It would be a good idea to brand schools with specific comic book characters. For some reason I am seeing Plastic Man for Rice. SMU obviously is Richie Rich.
