Under JP Memphis has accomplished this feat a total of four times (twice vs. UTk).

Scary part is that it only ended up being a five point margin despite the torrid shooting and low turnover number (10).

I am not giving UT 100% credit fur the comeback. Yes a couple of guys got hot, but we let off the gas and they increased their intensity. Our guys appear to play in the moment instead of playing 100% all the time. They have to learn how to go hard regardless of circumstances

You're nuts. His comments were stupid, but if he plays for us, he is the best big man on the team, without question. He will be drafted in the top ten, and have a long NBA career, assuming no injuries.

He is a man among boys out there, and our guys played out of their minds defense and got him in foul trouble with a flop by Hall (I agree with announcers, good job Hall in watching scouting report), just to hold him to close to a double/double.

You can dislike his choices, but you can't deny his talent. If you do, you don't watch much basketball.

The reality is that, according to ESPN, Stokes is projected a 2nd round to undrafted pick, just like Black.

Stokes is not what we need... we currently have two players who have the same skill set... Austin is more needed than Stokes right now

I would take that bet, if you're offering. If he is the go to guy on UT as everyone says he is here, he should get the touches necessary in the SEC to be one of the best in the league. That doesn't get you drafted in the second round.

If you believe the predictions Adonis, before the season, was on most draft boards in the first round. I think we can agree that may have been premature.

I am merely pointing out that an objective, nationally recognized source disagreed with your empathic statement that Stokes will be a top ten pick. Although you are welcome to your opinion, your faith in Stokes is not supported by the presented evidence.

If your offer is a bet about whether he goes in the top 10, I'd take that easy money in a heartbeat. He does not have the athleticism to succeed in the NBA and he does not have the heart to make up for it. He played long stretches of the game against Adonis and DJ, but put up average numbers. Those guys aren't exactly what he'd be facing playing the 4 in the NBA.

Stokes is not a great offensive player right now...He takes too long to make his moves...And if no one else can hit a shot I don't care how many touches he gets he will not be scoring many points.

We picked our spots - over 50% of our fg assisted

McRae by himself took more 3s than our whole team. So we went 7 for 11, but they were almost all very good shot selection (which is an improvement)

I don't think we will average that percentage if course, but it's not like it is rare for us to make 7 threes.

Even shooting by volume, McRae shot 41.6% from 3, he averages 31%. Even with McBee's bad decisions to shoot over bigger quicker defenders, their team still shot a great percentage at 38% when they average 29%. And they made 1 more than we did.

So the cause for concern is ridiculous. We heated up, they made some desperation shots to cut into the lead, we stayed in control and beat the line by 7.5 on the road (should have been 9.5 except for a meaningless late basket)

His comments were indeed overboard. "they shot five times better than they usually shoot." "Five times better" is impossible unless you're shooting under 20% and I don't think we've got anyone on that range.

Having said that, we could use Stokes on this team. He is the definition of Al McGuire's "aircraft carrier" that can be a game changer.

I fully understand some of the milder critical comments because he's wearing orange and in our opinion, he made a mistake. However, we could use his size and skills without question. Even I could see that through my blue blinders.

Basketball is a game of runs. Memphis had one early in the second half to go up 20. Then Tennessee had one late in the game. Thank goodness time expired.

That's some of that UT math. He would be a plus on the team especially since his development and fitness would be far more advanced. Having said that, you can't be sure about team chemistry. He wouldn't be the star with the Tigers that he is at UT. It didn't take him long to figure out you can't meet the fan's expectations of carrying the team to the next tier. I think that's a source of his frustration. He knows he made a pretty big mistake mot choosing a basketball program whatever or wherever it may have been. I think he's still got NBA potential though. Will just take longer to get there and require a lot more work once he does.

Stokes would provide Memphis more post depth (can't have enough really). He wouldn't be the main attraction like he is at Tennessee though. Good player, not a Top 10 NBA pick though as someone said. He's a late first round pick at best, but more likely mid to late second round and potentially undrafted. I mean, CDR couldn't go in the first round...

Well Richardson scored a career high of 20, but he averages 8 per game and McRae went for 26; he averages less than 12.
Somebody always plays out of their mind in this game. We played well, but it was pretty miraculous that they were able to come back and put up 80. In 12 games, they've only done that once.

We didn't expect them to shoot as well as they did. Their percentages didn't match up to how they played last night. Their season percentages, player by player, they shot five times better than they usually shoot.
