Coaches of 3-9 teams don't typically get raises. Respect Brohm and wish he was still here, but I don't think that's a promise that McGee can make. Though that entire statement is probably just a way to make Brohm look more desirable in the future and make UAB look less bad for losing a coordinator to WKU.

I have a suspicion that being closer to home and extended family may have something to do with it as well. I remember when he was a high school player in Louisville-their family was pretty tight.
