FAU will know in the coming weeks whether it will be competing as a member of Conference USA beginning in the fall of 2013.

Florida Atlantic should know by the end of the month whether it will become a member of Conference USA for competition in the fall of 2013 or will have to wait until 2014.

Conference USA will hold its annual winter in Miami beginning on January 22, followed by a conference call with the Board of Trustees on January 24.

At that point Conference USA will need to finalize the schedules for the 2013 fall sports, including football.

"We're planning on being a 14-team league, but it definitely could be a 16 team league if MTSU and FAU want to join for next year," Assistant Commissioner for Public Affairs Courtney Morrison Archer said....

I dont see it happening. Mtsu's administration will probably need more time to figure out where Marshall is located.

Nah, we just installed GPS devices on our covered wagons. We're all set.

GPS only works if you know where you're going. Last I heard MTSU thought Marshall was in Marshall, West Virginia.

If we leave without a year's notice it's $1 million although I expect the actual amount we're going to pay is going to be much less.

Otherwise we only forfeit the media rights for one season which is whopping $52-90K (aproximated) if we wait til '14.

When is the football schedule typically released? Typically March 1st in the Sun Belt.

Usually in February, but right now the league office has to figure out who will actually be in the conference before they can make out schedules. We may be on the same 12-day window for the schedule we usually are for late-season TV game announcements.

C'mon man your info need to go put that on the BRZ premium board. That's what we pay for.

The sooner the better for FAU and MTSU in my opinion. Let's get 'er done and stop worrying about BE on this board. They're going to be a fine, very competitive conference regardless of who is in the final mix. But this board is a C-USA board, and we are who we are and have a great future ahead of us, regardless.

That's much more reasonable than $7 million to leave C-USA imo.
