Most underrated part of the game, for sure. Very consequential. Got it absolutely wedged in our ass on that one.

And a couple others. We were NEVER meant to win this game...even if we had pulled ahead the refs would have made sure they knocked the wind out of our sails. Couple holding calls ..or rather NON calls. The non call of pass interference in the end zone. The spot they gave us when Martel HAD the first down...and even after review they didn't give it to us. The NON fumble by TLL...his damn knees were down. All of that momentum changers.

I talked to a Nebraska fan at the airport on the way home...he told me when they played FSU several years ago the same bad calls or non calls happened to them too. Midwest teams are not allowed to go into FL and win.

On the other hand our offense was way out of sync in the first half. Game could have been much much closer.

Guys, even if the refs didn't blow a few calls and we didnt throw that pick, I still don't think we win. I think we would have had a chance to win, yes.

I really hate conspiracies.

Got to follow the $$$. There a lot more going on out there than you may think. 03-shhhh

I agree we probably would not have won anyway...but I think it could have been much much closer.

I agree. Lynch was off that night and he is our best player. Not only did he have the critical interception, he was missing open receivers and making poor throws. I am not knocking him, we never would have had the opportunity to play the game without him and his outstanding season.

After re watching game I agree fumble and PI Were bad, but than again I think the int screwed our momentum and to be quite honest we only had about 6 good plays (fake punt, Akeem pass, onside, tommy lee run, and martel TD) that's all I can think of... Our offense played boring and did not try anything except QB draw with lynch ad that dline closed down the middle and containe the outside

Conspiracies are a great way to deny reality though.

FSU was on the wrong end of some questionable calls themselves. We've got to keep in mind that even big conference officials are closer in quality to the replacement refs than what the NFL has.

No amount of bad calls outweighs all the dropped passes and bad throws by Jordan.

RE: Replay of the OB
Refs getting paid is a reach. A ref speaking in the same southern dialect as one teams fans (unable to understand) can be an issue, even if they are from another conference.

Refs usually give the home team the calls, again especially when they are from their conference. Bottom line is in any sport, especially in college, some coaches are bullies. That's their job. Jimbo "Jones" Fisher is just another one of them. You would think the refs would get sick of it, but it seems to manipulate them more than anything. They get all the leeway, the long leash. Been that way forever, but still doesn't make it right.

On another note, found it odd how they didn't or would cut short replays at the game. That had to be the crappiest stadium jumbotron work I have ever seen.

Agree. I wanted to watch some of the plays on the jumbotron when they were playing on the far side of the field, but they'd show a closeup of Lynch on the screen, he'd throw the ball and you'd still be looking at Lynch and miss the entire play.

Also, from now on if NIU loses, I'm going to say that it's because they were "disinterested" in the game against an inferior opponent, and that if something bad happens, it's strictly because we played bad, and has nothing to do with the other team being good.

Seems to work for BCS teams and E$PN.

Dunno either, but momentum is everything in college football.
