Monarchs Playing Pro Ball

Ugh. Please no.

Seriously a team like the 49ers would work.

RE: Monarchs Playing Pro Ball
Read the Daily Norseman (Vikings blog) report after the game. The writer basically said something to the effect of "The fact is he (TH) is not very good, we must admit it." Unless Keenum gets injured, would not be surprised if he either ends up on the inactive list again or gets released. Remember when he is playing, he is against the other team's second and third stringers. I'd love to be wrong, but I don't see any great things happening for him this year.

TH threw for more yards than Kenum on half the pass attempts. He kept a TD drive alive with his mobility. Yes, he had one interception on a throw that was not as good as it needed to be, but it did carom off the receivers hands. The TD pass was a laser that threaded the needle. I think the coaches see more to like in TH than the average sports writer does. That was a good game for TH, and if he has another one, he will be pushing for the number two position. I see him being on the 53-man roster once again, still with a chance to be number two. It ain't over yet.

Zach once again did not get into the game at receiver until the fourth quarter. (Well, actually, I believe he had one play in the third.) He finished with three catches for 27 yards and a long of 16 on five targets. One that he missed was catchable, but a pretty tough catch to make with really close coverage and contact at the catch attempt. His body language after that miss was easy to read -- he was really disappointed that he did not hold on to it. The other one was a bad throw -- uncatcheable. Thankfully, he went three for three on the last drive, and only Thompson (5) and R. Davis (4) had more catches than he did. He also had an 18-yard kick return that I did not see. All in all, not a bad night, but probably not as good as he would have liked for it to be.

Pascal has been outplayed by Davis, which isnt terribly unexpected. The good thing about Zach is special teams though. He likely slides to the practice squad, dont think anyone carries him on the 53. It takes WRs a long time to develop and this could help him long term.
