He's got to be cut right? I mean, there's no way you bring this guy back for another season

He will be on the team and be a starter. Why would they cut him?

Because in one of the biggest moments of tonight's game he had a horrible late hit that gave FSU a first down when it would have been 3rd and 10 in a one possession game

no room for that kind of player on a team.

NIU needs smart players, not idiots who make mistakes like that

Time to let the real idiots reign on the board for a few days

Perhaps I was harsh, but that was a pivotal point in the game.

How am I an idiot for wanting an undisciplined player off the team?

Jamaal made a mistake. He was excited and aggressive. A mental error. Either way we got ran all over. Jamaal kept us in this game.

Eh, if you say so. Looked to me like he took us right out of it.

Turns a one possession game into a two possession game to get a hit on a guy out of bounds.

What a team player!

What a team player!

That is pretty critical of a player when FSU could have gained the 10 yds on the very next play. They had over 500 yards of offense. I could understand if this was a 4th down play but it was 2nd down.

The reason for the loss as I see it was the poor offensive play calling and not adapting to a defense much faster and stronger. When you are already smaller and slower, direct runs up the middle 20 times are not gonna do much.

kick a player off because of a mental mistake? that makes no sense...i do concur that in my eyes that was the whole turning point in the game

re: offense.....lynch had no idea what to do when he had immense time in the pocket. the speed of the FSU defensive secondary and the threat of the front 7 to squish him pretty much froze him. not sure what we could have done differently, but at least try to take off.

in Bass's defense, the receiver appeared to be carrying a clarinet.

Bass has had a lot of late hits this season - some flagged and some not. In the beginning of the game I thought he was going to be flagged for a late hit and taunting. He doesn't play very smart, although he is a very good player. He plays with a lot of emotion, but I always feel he will get flagged at least once a game.

FSU was better than NIU but NIU is gaining. The schools with money are the top dogs. The NIU ftbll program took a giant step forward, and made a name for themselves. Many BIGTEN programs would have done no better than us. We just battled FSU in Florida! We showed, we weren't as good as them, but we were competitive even when our best player was subpar.

RE: Will Jamaal Bass be on the team next year?
I can't believe I am reading this thread. Athletically, Bass is our best LB. He did make a dumb mistake, at a critical time, but he was one of the few LB"s making plays. Unfortunately, our MLB was getting destroyed. If it was not for Jimmie Ward, theynwould have scored 3 more TD"s. I would have thought we would have gone with our quicker LB set with Bass, Clark and Santacaterina, with Ward playing more of a rover. We could not compete with their O line size, trying to go toe to toe. Could not be more proud of the Huskies!

Bass is our only returning starter at LB next year. Jacques is forgettable at best and Clark had a pretty good season. This thread is dumb.
