Go back to enjoying your peaceful pastimes of lawn mowing and yelling at children who get on your grass, and don't take the fun out of legal hits in football for the rest of us.

I'm with MB on this one. All the pro leagues are now concerned about head injuries, yet this is the type of play that is shown in highlight reels and across message boards. He hits the guy right in the chin, and in doing so takes his helmet off. Then he proceeds to get up on top of this guy now playing without a helmet. So many bad things could happen at this point. A hit like that on a defenseless WR would be a 15 yarder, it's hard to say that this RB was any less defenseless than most WR are when they first catch the ball.
I don't have a problem with him hitting the RB in the backfield at all. Clowney however, lowered his head and drove the top of his helmet into this RB's head, causing his helmet to fly off. If you are going to worry about concussions and guys dying much younger than the average person, then you need to protect the players. There is no reason Clowney couldn't have just hit him in the waist and had the same outcome.
That was definitely one of the top 5 greatest hits in college football this year. Apparently, the Michigan player's helmet wanted nothing to do with Mr. Clowning. Talk about six degrees of separation? If Clowning had done that in the NFL, Goddell would have him fined and/or suspended.

Text book, great, aggressive hit, saw nothing wrong with it, nor did the ON FIELD OFFICIALS.
If you saw something wrong with that hit, football may not be your sport.
Go back and look at how long that play took. If you believe he could have controled the position of his body more to hit the RB lower, etc., etc., I would again have to disagree.
The rate of speed and fraction of time makes that almost impossible.
Football is a "Collision" Sport not a "Contact" one. Players are bigger, faster, stronger every year.
If you really want to make football safer, prohibit weight rooms and speed training. Institute a maximum size, weight, speed requirement.
Even then, the hits won't change.
