Anyone think this may entice BYU back?

Yes. I posted on the realignment board about this. Before the CBS deal was announced, ESPN was talking with the MWC about BYU re-joining. Of course BYU won't go back taking less money, so obviously ESPN would still have to pay BYU, but I bet ESPN will get the second package for the MWC which would really set things in motion.

So do all MWC schools retain their rights or is this a Boise special?

I'm not quite sure. I haven't been able to get an answer to this.

If it was the case then there would be no league rights because everyone plays at home and would get there rights.

Exactly. I'm thinking it has to be something just for Boise. I'm trying to get a hold of a couple people now to find out something, but damn, they are pretending to be at work, lol.

Boise's games alone will probably be worth the same as the MWC total package and everyone still splits the money so the conference still comes out on top

I guess we will finally get to see how much BSU perceived value is worth. Does anyone think that BSU will negotiate a deal before the Big East does?

Don't they only retain rights to their home games that are not picked up or sold by CBS? If that is the case, shouldn't everyone in the league have that opportunity or am I wrong?

Boise may have their home conference game rights, but the MWC has to sign off on any potential deal, and the money goes to the MWC coffers along with all other media revenue, and distributed the same way.

Only difference is the bonus clause. And that the BSU games aren't under the current agreement with CBS.

So say they get 6 abc/espn games w/ 2 on Sat. that's 2.2 mill in bonuses. Not counting the regular conf payout. My question is, how much is each of the 4 week night games worth, and how much are 2 sat games worth? In regards to say a road game at Michigan St. does Boise's money conf from just MSU like say a bodybag game would or does espn pay them as well as msu or instead of msu.

Another thing is this...

Say espn pays BSU 1 mill to play Georgia in the Georgia Dome, the 1 mill goes in the pot and 500K gets paid back to BSU alone. So if BSU generates say 5 mill extra in national tv games and we only pay out 2.2 mill in bonuses, its a net gain for the league.

So I hear that MWC and BSU still aren't reading the contract the same. MWC isn't going to pay 2, 500K bonuses to BSU for playing at BYU and at Washington on espn. 2 games where MWC generates $0 in revenue.

i worked out that if every single MWC game is played on national tv on staurday the bonus payout total would be 147m

Hair says only BSU home games, BSU says all games. I want to see them in the same room and tell us, which it is. I don't know how you can pay a bonus to someone where you don't have any rights to that game.
