Swing and Purifoy are halfway there
Twenty Blazers have crossed the 1000 point threshold and are members of the 1000 Point club.

Before today, 51 other Blazers have crossed the halfway point to that elite club and scored more than 500 points.

Today, Jordan Swing and Preston Purifoy scored their 500 points. Swing now stands at 513 and Purifoy is at 502. Both have more than a year and a half to make it to 1000.

RE: Swing and Purifoy are halfway there
Swing came up 1 rebound & 3 assists short of a triple double.

He had 7 rebounds & 7 assists with about 13 minutes remaining & had only 2 rebounds & no assists the rest of the way.

I'm really happy for Preston. I was surprised when I found out that he wasn't starting and for the first part of the season I could see why. But it seems as if he has settled into his sixth man role.

This question goes out to MB or any other historian. Who where some of the better sixth man from the past?

Most recently, Lawrence Kinnard did some awesome work as a sixth man before he moved into the starter role. Ronell Taylor also comes to mind. I think he won 6th man award in CUSA.

Reginald Allen was also a very good sixth man his senior year.

Willie Mitchell won the CUSA Sixth Man award as well - and was decidedly unhappy about it.

Ahhh yea, Willie Mitchell. Who could forget. I thought that he either under achieved or maybe he wasn't as good as advertised. But towards the end he started to put the pieces together.

Well, starting your career as a Parade All-American, and playing at Michigan and then ending your career with the CUSA sixth man award as a senior is not the sign of an upwardly mobile career

I think Preston needs to remain the sixth man. The rotation we have now is working pretty well.

Agreed. Tonight was the best we've looked all year. We played great in all respects and won decisively, even without a dominating post game.

For the first time in a while I am feeling positive again about this team's potential for this year. I think we may have what it takes to make a run and perhaps wind up an NIT team.

Needless to say, depth will be an issue.
