David Crane wouldn't elaborate why, but he mentioned Jekore on the air yesterday as "not here" among those who wouldn't be playing, KC was the other, but he did say it was due to injury/recovery on his part. I heard him on my way to Bartow in the pregame show. Brought my daughter to the game, she had a good time, her and "Taxi" (her favorite toy, a stuffed beagle)...

Damn, I hate this, I liked Jekore, loved his energy. Thought he would fit right in with Coach Haase's style of play. Arguably, he'll be missed. Bench is already thin as it is...& Memphis is coming....Memphis is coming...

He may decide to go that route. Ran into KC at "Snoozy's" one day a week or so ago, asked him if he was going to play this year. Sounded as if he was leaning toward RS'ing this year.

Is there a dark cloud hanging over our athetic program or what? Seems like "Murphy's Law" is in full effect on UAB sports.

I don't think so. The team played a great game against a decent opponent knowing JT's fate. Any player who puts himself above the team is a cancer to the team in one way or another. He is a talented player, but he obviously couldn't do what Coach Haase asked of him, which couldn't have been that much seeing as all the other players aren't being suspended repeatedly. I'm glad Haase made this decision now, because that is a distraction this team definitely did not need in conference play.

He's a good player, and would have fit in well with this system. However, if he's being a dumb@$$, kick his dumb@$$ to the curb. We don't need him that much, and there are other players that can step up.

Maybe Hoopy will get his minutes now. He's a guy we haven't heard much from this year that I though had a lot of talent and would contribute in his redshirt freshman year.

I also think KC should redshirt. Realistically, how many minutes is he going to get this year? Why waste a year of eligibility on garbage time. Sit out a year, rehab more, and work on your game. Come back next year and be the 3 point sharp shooter off the bench that we all know you can be.

Hoopy is a true sophomore, the NCAA didn't give him his redshirt

I can't disagree on KC Answer, although that decision is ultimately his. We're staring at 15-17 regular season wins right now, so there's no real reason to bring him in this year with the 8-guard rotation we have at present.

Completely agree. We have a log jam at the 1-3 positions, and KC would be unlikely to crack that rotation. He should sit out a year and improve and then try to make an impact in the ensuing years..

I didn't know Hoopy didn't get his redshirt. That sucks. Is he in Haase's doghouse? Why hasn't he received more playing time? He can't be shooting that much worse than Terrence Jones.

And it would give us 84 seniors next year instead of the 85 we were looking at. Haase is going to have to do a lot of work to spread these scholarships out unless he can have some things like this happen.

I believe Hoopy's academic progress determines whether or not he's granted a 4th year. That won't be decided until his 3rd playing year.

As far as playing time, he tweaked his ankle in practice.

Hoppy, PP, Quincy,ASW plus Moton are the bench, its hard to insert PP in the starting lineup, because without his bench scoring, the game could get aswy early when the fist subs come in. as it stands now the scoring increases when PP enters.
