Dude what is your problem?

Those on this board try to find any example of a so called "Power 5" member failing and is quick to point it out. Instead, we should try to find things that uplift our schools, not put down others.

Well I'm pointing out that even a fan base as rabid as Nebraska is starting to realize that it makes little sense to pay premium dollars for a meaningless exhibition game and that this will continue as playoffs start.
So get off your high horse, you know full well that if it was UC selling only 4k for a bowl game sportscasters would be pointing it out.

Having 70 hung on them by a mediocre Wisconsin team, plus the fact that they played in Orlando last year, are strong mitigating factors.

Being a meaningless game with a high cost is bigger reason. Fans are becoming smarter.

I don't think it is a bigger reason. Lots of bowl games have no national title implications and big travel costs and yet have drawn well. It has always been that way so no reason to think fans are getting smarter.

Bowl games as whole are continuing a drop in attendance, yes some ave a one year upswing depending on match ups but look it up bowl attendance has been dropping for years.

I think the increasing rigidity of conference tie-ins are responsible. In the old days most of the bowls did not have these ties and were free to wheel and deal to create attractive matchups for their markets. Now even tiny bowls are locked in and have to take SEC #7 and ACC #6 even if those are 5 loss teams with no fan interest in playing each other.

Like they did when UConn sold 4,000 tickets to the Fiesta Bowl, but many more UConn fans went around the high prices and bought game tickets elsewhere. The media feasted on the 4,000 figure.

So you made that post to uplift USF?

Don't get what your problem is or why you've directed your hate at USF. We're in the same boat as you man.

I haven't directed any hate towards USF. Simply requesting information. We are both in the same boat and probably deserve it (in terms of facilities, attendance, etc) but UC has actually had more on field success then most of the departing schools which makes it frustrating.

Time for the bowl games to quit raping the season ticket holders of said programs. They give the school the worse tickets to sell above market conditions.
