I have to thank Schiano and company for getting Nova off of our hands... That kid is horrible. I've seen HS QB's with better mechanics.

Well.... it really was Stevie P who you should thank. 03-wink He fired Wanny and then the whole class blew up. Pitt was going to be in trouble in Jersey anyway with Hafley going to RU before DW was fired. Then, of course, Schiano and practically the whole staff bailed for TB.

I think they one guy Pitt would like to have that bailed would have been Keyshon Jarrett, the CB for VT. It worked out ok though with KW and LP.

I think the other guys would have provided depth at this point. That's not to say that they wouldn't have developed more at Pitt (or not at all) or be stars in the future for their current teams.

I believe we also had a pretty good shot at Savon Huggins prior to Wannstedt being fired. He's a pretty good back.

Here are Huggins' stats:
175/556 (3.1 YPC) and 7 TDs in his two years there for teams that went a combined 18-6.

I don't think he would have started in front of Graham. IMO, he would have just provided depth so far.

Jawan Jameson is the starter there and he'll be a Sr next year. It will be interesting to see if Huggins gets more carries next year as he only got about 1/3 of them this year.

I doubt Huggins would have taken many carries from Graham or Shell. Still, he was a prized recruit we lost to Schiano and he could have contributed eventually.
